What a great month to get sober!!
I came to the March 2020 group having been sober for two days and my life in utter disarray. I'd tried to get sober before - 'what's the point of trying again?' I thought?
By posting regularly and reading other people's posts I learned that there is HOPE. I thought I was a hopeless drunk, but it turns out I was just drunk.
There is hope for a sober life. If you don't believe it then listen to other people's' stories.

Hey Marcherinos
just checking in from the March 2020 class, just turned over a year and wanted to add my support to those starting their journey.
I can honestly say I have never made a better decision than when I put down the bottle. Its been quite a year off and on, a year ago I was living under a black cloud and unable to envision where I am today.
Sobriety is truly a gift
You won't regret embracing it

I'm here to show support for March. I was thinking about the idea of "herd immunity" today and how this group support is sort of like that -- more protection, more help, more safety in this daily bubble of connection.
I finally got a month AF by never skipping a day of Feb class and showing up no matter what, hard days, easy days, boring days. It helped me be more honest with myself and I tried harder to make it work. Thanks to a lot of great role models here at SR and the peer support. Learning about the Addictive Voice has been very helpful too. I'm currently reading the book to learn more about it (Rational Recovery).
