Hi Cow people

I think Cow is working
We got yobs for the new year

She's probably writing.

What are Cowpeople doing today? I have the day off and I washed dishes, I have to do errands and then I am back at Bed Island.

I'm sending mail out too Cow

How are you Croutie?

We just got back from shopping for a b-day gift for a friend, and now I'm in Bed Island.

That is true where is Shab?

I'm fine Sleepie....I did have a couple glasses of wine a few days ago, but was able to quit the cycle. I've read so much here on SR about trying to moderate your drinking, so I'm very aware of the downward spiral. I'm not trying to moderate my drinking; I just had some wine. Not planning on making a habit of it.
I'm just hanging out on my bed with my sweet doggies; they really are my best friends...

Awww can you hang with the doggies next you get a craving? I bet they'd rather their mama didn't. Like maybe play catch with them or something.

I'm having a 2nd grilled cheese and retiring to more Bed Island
I was just traumatized by PBS
and THAT'S what I get for treating tv as an educational experience. Back to fiction for me

Yep fiction and cheese that's where it's at for old sleepie. And cartoons and Cows and things.

Don't laugh at my obsession with croissants, people! Croissants are keeping me sober. When Dee asked me what my plan for staying sober was, I said: croissants! Nah, just kidding. ;-)

Karaoke cow. Cool!

D.

No more PBS for you, sleepie! All I watch these days is the Food Channel, which won't surprise anyone. Lol.

Vanilla-bean ice cream and house-made dark chocolate and molasses-sugar ganache (my house) has been extremely helpful to me in maintaining sobriety.

I'll take what pleasures I can these days.

I do it the easy short-cut way

Several pieces of 99% cacao baker's chocolate
Melt in sauce pan with a bit of Irish butter, heavy cream, molasses sugar.
I don't measure any of this. . .
stir to blend
Pour over really good ice cream.

Works well with regular baker's chocolate and brown sugar, honey,
maple syrup, and the other things too--doesn't have to be fancy to be tasty.

Warning: Extremely addictive

Is it really such a good idea to substitute one bad habit for another? Is overindulging in sugar all that more healthy than alcohol? Heart, kidneys and even liver can be seriously damaged.

Addicts can typically find ways to justify their habit, i.e.: the dog died so I need a drink/smoke/sugar fix. Then it becomes: I quit drink/smoking/sugar so I need drink/smoke/sugar. One for another. Pick your poison.

Maybe Walk. I mean I've lost 40 lbs and I am not currently overweight. My Doctor seems ok with my numbers which were all perfect last I had 'em checked in October. I think if I was overweight or had high cholesterol or something I'd be more cautious. Yeah it can't last forever and I still eat my veggies but a person can only handle so much at a time.

I was also a biker until someone broke in and stole my bike, which was my main transportation aside from walking.

Jerk. (the bike thief not you)

And I miss that bike!

I had a whole life for that thing. I named it, we had some times... few understand this and maybe it's just my own dumbass thing but I really felt I'd lost a friend when she was taken from me. I mean I have lost pets too and it felt just the same to me. And still does.

We are having warm weather (even though it SHOULD be winter ) and I was missing my bike so much today.
