...of mice and men. Part 2
Life on lifes terms though gypsy, at least any decissions that you make will be with a clear mind free from the fog of alcohol. Yes I remember you saying that you would be hiking over Easter, but I can't remember where you said you were going.Let me know so i can google it, and take a look.
Yes... life on life's terms. I am pretty sober at 130 days I think so my troubles aren't alcohol related at the moment.
Delaware Water Gap is where we like to go. It's easy to find on Google but I don't have a link right this sec.

Hi all-STONE!!
Hope the weekend has been fun for everyone! I got to see my boy-we sat out by the spa-pool and then had BAR B Que. My son is looking forward to being able to come home at least for a day, next weekend. I am so looking forward to this.I missed my 5:30 meeting and wen to a Speaker meeting instead. Great choice-this older gent-Bob H. spoke, he must be early 80s and what a sense of humor. I really enjoy old folks-he was so honest and funny about his trials and tribulations. He had over 35 years of sobriety-a miracle!
Stone, I hope next week gives you some hope. Been thinking about you-I know how frustraing the "system" can be, its so punitive-we did not ask to be this way and I am so tired of the stigma attached to our addictions.
Well, tomorrow I am sleeping in, enjoying my one cup of strong french coffee, my newspaper-the a noon meet and I will meet my sponsor at my favorite coffeehouse.
G'day all!
Melissa

Hi everyone, Bee I am so glad things a improving for you, you sound great! You deserve it.
That's a tough one tj, am I right in thinking you are worried you might slip? Your sobriety comes first, for you and your son. Anyway I hope I understood your meaning, if not just ignore that!
That is right gypsy, spinning jennies is curry, a special kind made with cotton and sandals. Good luck with the 'life' stuff.
Hi chris enjoy your hike, maybe I could join you one day when I get my driving licence back, I love the countryside?
I just realised about the clocks going forward too! It is good it is a weekend or you would lose an hours sleep as they say.
My computer keeps crashing lately and I have no idea why!!
I am happy to be sober and looking forward to rehab tomorrow, I will 'take what I need and leave the rest'

Hia Stone hope today was good for you mate. Have you sorted your PC out now? Well i forgot about putting the clocks forward and as a result we only went hiking in Kenilworth around the castle, only did about 2.5 miles but then looked round a part of the castle that isn't generaly open without guided tours. Good day though, it took yrs to build the castle and took Cromwells men days to ruin it.
Just like trying to knock the booze on the head, we struggle like fk to get sober then ruin it in minutes.

Back from rehab. It is too early to tell what I think of it but first impressions are good. It is run on a cognitive behavioural approach which is fine by me, it also provides a change in routine and forces me to meet people face to face, which is also good for me.
I feel quite positive and it is also nice and sunny!

Stone here we meet again on a new thread just for you! Sounds like the rehab is, so far, from what you said going to do some good.
I love SR, but can tell you that it can not even hold a candle to Face to face programs. I have only met one person here face to face, By By Vodka, saw him twice this past week at AA meetings, he is a great guy and it makes such a difference seeing a smile, shaking hands, getting and giving hugs.
You know when I first started in AA the last dang thing I wanted or felt I needed was a hug from a guy, now they mean the world to me!

Stone... thanks for the report . I'm glad it went well today. The sun is finally coming out of the clouds here too... maybe the laundry I hung earlier will dry.
Chris... rattlesnakes I haven't seen. I do know they are there though. However I have seen black bears a little too close for comfort and once I almost stepped on a king snake bare foot because I had a blister and was trying to hike down without my boots on. Foolish of me. I have camped up there years ago... BC (before children). Those were some nice trips. The Appalachian trail follows through the Gap.

Thanks Hush and Taz.
I agree on the F2F thing Taz, I like people and I like socialising but I have really isolated myself with my drinking. At the end of the 6 weeks you can bet 80% of them will be getting on my nerves though lol!
Hi gypsy, I knew you would shout at me if I didn't report. How are you babes?
