One Year & Over Part 58
Good morning Overs, especially Wolfe, and all my other Sober siblings as we reach another soberversary.
Peej, I agree, life is on an upswing for you now. Enjoy all that comes your way.

Toots, giant and congrats on 5 whole years sober! :
Wolfie and Kris, if you stop by, congrats on your soberversaries, too!
PJ, so happy to hear your news! Your aunt and uncle sound like truly lovely and generous people. It’s inspiring to share your journey.
Still snowing ....
Have a good day, Overs!

I am way too focused on the medical journal paper published on the net with me in it- face and all (except a VERY slight blank over eyes). The history of how I fried is there, plus the extremity of how screwed I was...more than I was told in person. Severe lung damage at the time from smoke for eg. OK now- but no one told me this- or if they did it was when my brain was so fried I did not understand. They knew this- as I was told it later on. Let go- very hard. No point in making a fuss- it is out there now. That plus the other stuff have really bought back a lot of horrible mems of that time. Went to a meeting..2.5 hour return trip...did not help much this time.
Toots, congratulations on 5 years
Congratulations to Wolfie and Kris on soberversaries too.
I start back to work on Monday. 2 hours a day to see how I go for the first week.
PJ, must be hard reading about yourself.

Mags that's so great you're going back to work! Take it slow and easy! And enjoy these last days of freedom. (Even if it's enforced freedom)
I'm waiting to find out if I got into the art and design university. Should find out this week or next. If I don't I have a couple other options like another fine arts program at a college that I'm accepted to and also a creative writing degree at another college which looks fantastic too. It's nice to have options, it's really amazing actually that I can "choose my own adventure" sort of, that I've come to a point where I'm taking control of my life. I'm feeling confident and like i can actually DO this. Therapy is helping so much, I'm so glad that I sought help....it's been an amazing turn around for me.
Just sitting on my new sofa having a cuppa (as you Brits say!), just did a yoga video. The sofa is very modern looking, pale grey, and it folds to a sofa bed so I can have guests. I'm very happy about my purchase.
Refresh my memory Itch, when do you move?
Toots congrats on five years!!!

What is Pi Day?
https://www.bing.com/search?q=pi+day...ZI&form=MOZLBR
This Pi day converges with the two of our greatest minds, today we lost Stephen Hawking, on Albert Einstein's birthday, and Pi day, which will make this one bittersweet.
Happy Pi Day! What you might not know about the number that never ends - Technology & Science - CBC News
So we will forever be reminded of Einstein, and Hawking, who is now also forever associated with this day.
I watched his latest videos on YouTube with sadness for the loss of Hawking, an inspiration for me, and millions around the world. His videos on YouTube remind me of his brilliance, and well grounded perspective. Stephen mentions in one how he yearned to fly to space yet despaired of anyone ever taking him. Sir Richard Branson offered him a ride and Stephen said he accepted. He said that, to date, he never changed his mind. Love him or hate him, you cannot dismiss him.
Goodbye Stephen Hawking.
Stephen Hawking actually did a cover of "The Galaxy Song" from "Monty Python's The Meaning Of Life." He had a great sense of humor, and here he is singing it:

Happy Pi day.
Here the lyrics so you can sing along with Stephen:
Galaxy Song
Monty Python
Whenever life gets you down, Mrs. Brown,
And things seem hard or tough,
And people are stupid, obnoxious or daft,
And you feel that you've had quite eno-o-o-o-o-ough,
Just remember that you're standing on a planet that's evolving
And revolving at 900 miles an hour.
It's orbiting at 19 miles a second, so it's reckoned,
The sun that is the source of all our power.
Now the sun, and you and me, and all the stars that we can see,
Are moving at a million miles a day,
In the outer spiral arm, at 40,000 miles an hour,
Of a galaxy we call the Milky Way.
Our galaxy itself contains a hundred billion stars;
It's a hundred thousand light-years side to side;
It bulges in the middle sixteen thousand light-years thick,
But out by us it's just three thousand light-years wide.
We're thirty thousand light-years from Galactic Central Point,
We go 'round every two hundred million years;
And our galaxy itself is one of millions of billions
In this amazing and expanding universe.
Our universe itself keeps on expanding and expanding,
In all of the directions it can whiz;
As fast as it can go, at the speed of light, you know,
Twelve million miles a minute and that's the fastest speed there is.
So remember, when you're feeling very small and insecure,
How amazingly unlikely is your birth;
And pray that there's intelligent life somewhere out in space,
'Cause there's bugger all down here on Earth!

PJ,
I am glad you're well. What is COM 16? I'd like to read it. Link?
Andy,
I hope the day serves up some joy with your sunshine!
You too Toots! Five years! WooHoo! Congrats. Brilliant! It is nice to have you around.
Wolf, Kris congrats too. we are fast becoming old friends. And none of us did it alone either.
Sassy,
I'm glad you are doing well too, despite all the snow and severe storms. Did you get thunder snow locally?
PJ,
Just like the old cravings, think them through to today. I am hopeful for you.
Hiatus? Camel break?
Mags!
Great news! I bet you are overcome with cabin fever by now.
IP,
It is a great juncture to find yourself, in every way that can be taken. Best of luck in your decision.
We move this summer because we don't want to carry stuff on ice up in Colorado. Also this place looks a mess every spring until the ground dries out enough to mow and trim. This place is beautiful from late Spring to late Autumn.
Hey CK!
All is good, sunny, and drying out here. Rain again this weekend. I may be able to get the bulk of it today and tomorrow.
Again happy Pi day.

Itch..COM - Class of March.
Feeling a little more grounded today. Since the burns..my little world has been fighting to achieve the lost rung of Maslow's hierarchy of needs. Sooo grieving for my dad kind of got lost in the miasma of all the other crap in my head. Seeing his rave was a concrete, tangible- realistic connection to him. He was a good guy, deep down.

Feeling kinda blah today. Oh well, tomorrow is another day.

PJ---Hugs--Your car situation--- facing the right way and then Boom ---dead battery---yup ----that's me all over. Glad everything went well other than that for you.
Toots ----Congratulations.
Sass---going to shovel some of that white stuff myself. The fresh air will
be great.

Itchy, thanks for the links. And for the pics :-)
Mags, good to hear you’re trying a short workday. Thinking of you!
(((PJ)))
Gilmer, snow, snow, snow! Another snow storm next week. Living here it’s not an inconvenience - I can get fairly smug about the fact that I don’t have to go out, shovel snow, etc.
Have a good Thursday!
