Today it has been two years (731 days) since I quit drinking. It's been the best, most productive, most rewarding time of my life. Almost every day something will happen and I'll think I would have handled that poorly if I was still drinking.
Thanks, Dee!
Big congrats on 2 years, OOT! Our sober time keeps piling up in a wonderful way. I come here first thing every morning to share with all of you and start my day by reminding myself how grateful I am.
Andy, that’s great to hear about Mrs T!
Have a good Saturday, Overs.

Good morning folks.
Congratulations on two years OOTT!
I have mentioned how busy my life has gotten lately. Yesterday I was getting ready to head out to work - which is much busier and more time consuming than I expected when I took this position on - and thought about the nice dinner I would make myself when I got home, and then I thought of a nice bottle of wine with it. WTH - where did that come from! I can only assume that this idea popped into my head because that's the way I unwound after work before I retired (I quit drinking after retiring). Talk about old habits! Anyway I immediately pushed that thought out of my head ("that's just crazytalk!") and carried on with my day. No more issues. Funny how that little voice pops up when you least expect it. Ironically I wouldn't be able to be as effective with this position if I were drinking. I did have a nice dinner (bangers and mashed) and a nice (sober) evening. I also had that drinking dream recently so I need to keep my vigilance up and keep close to SR.
Busy day today. Have a good Saturday folks.

Hels- one of the only phrases I hear at meetings reeeaally strikes a chord with me- that booze is ' cunning, baffling and powerful'. I think it is me- not the booze that is cunningb/p. My subconscious plays tricks. I may get triggered to thinking about booze- by a certain sound, sight, smell. I find I think of stuff I had not thought on for decades. Example: the main , busiest street in Adelaide- Rundle street was, decades ago- made into a paved ,pedestrian space- Rundle Mall. The other half still holds traffic. Sometimes on this street- when a bus roars past and the fumes are strong..it reminds me of when I was 5- on that street being in Adelaide to stay, with my family at relatives- for Xmas. A bird call, a date...lots of things can evoke a reaction. Just remember - having thoughts and feelings is not a sign of weakness..it takes time. Only action is the bit that can get gnarly.
PJ thank you for your post today ! how true "cunning ,baffling, and powerful". that it is. I need to remind myself of that more often.
OOTT---congratulations.
It's snowing here in the Dakota's and yes, this person is going to go out and shovel that crap ! !
It's ok ---I need the fresh air.

Hi Overs!
FBL,
Glad your system backs up daily and you didn't lose your work! Lots of companies with legacy one off unique software they paid a lot for won't even think about getting updated to current software. There are inexpensive replacement off the shelf today for almost all the old custom programs for one biz. That's why I was concerned. Good for ya!
OOT!
Great, thanks for letting me know. Back when we were fulltime living and traveling in an RV for seven years we Spent a lot of time in SeaTac, 101 and Hoh Rainforest and Olympic parks, then to SeaTac and stay at McChord AFB FamCamp and tour around for a week or three.

Try to enjoy the time with your own pace in productivity. Be well dear.
PJ,
That mediations sounds like a great idea to chaperone.
So are you having another surgery on the shoulder?
". . . they wanted to remove forensic evidence of their DNA. "
I love historical fiction and factual histories as well. I own proudly a copy of the full 13 volume set of "The Story Of Civilization" by Will and Arial Durant. I also have their "The Story Of Philosophy" a single concise volume. They are just a few of the 20 sets/books I keep.
HI RZ!
You too OOTT, But remember I am re-tired, everyday is Saturday. Except for Super Bowl 52 Sunday.
I take Maggie everywhere with me except food stores. I tell the folks that ask that no she isn't a service dog, just my fur-kid and buddy. There are more pet friendly stores and places then folks realize. Lowe's, Home Depot, Tractor Supply, Goodwill, and many more. They all require that you have them on a leash and that they are well behaved. Maggie is that, and all the kids love running into her as do her buddies at all the stores. Everyone asks where Maggie is when she isn't with me.
Mags, we miss that as in Germany when we lived there from 1990-1997, our furkid was allowed in every restaurant and hotel. That was our SharPei Bogart. He was fine with the waiters stepping over him because they would always bring him a nibble of meat or other snack. Andy,
Glad you are all getting some rest.
Sassy,
You, like several here make me smile to read your posts.
You guys did see the "Service Peacock" that was declined for a jet flight right?

Dragon,
Yep that one.
Woohoo Andy! Give Mrs T a big hug from us two here, and one guy hug for you.
Gil,
Good going on shotguns!
Congrats OOTT! Two years is huge!
Helen,
Good on you! Yeah the thought pops in once in a great while, not as a desire just the idea and then the "Eww" thought.
Babs,
Jealous here! Take it easy, those snow shovel engines have been known to overheat and seize up!
I am buying a sno-blower when we get to Colorado.
Nothing new here. I am working up to sell all the stuff before we move. It is still too cold to go into full time yard sale mode. Soon.
Have a great Super Bowl 52 Sunday folks!!
