One of my friends just posted this on Facebook:

"Every year it's the same ... the holidays bring this pressure, this expectation of some Norman Rockwell fantasy. If your family twists you in knots and makes you question what small reality you can hold onto ..... it doesn't matter. Heaven forbid you want to find some peace, some small place where you aren't cringing at the emotional blackmail, the screaming at who you are favoring if you cook this or have dinner at that time or the demands to prove not only that you love but that you love them best. There are no sitcom laugh tracks here. This is not a scripted, solvedattheendoftheshow production that ends with a group hug. I would welcome the heart attack or stroke I felt throbbing in my head until I could not see - not for sympathy, not for attention- but for the chance at the quiet of a hospital room and permission to skip the madness"...

Thankfully there's still one month until Christmas

Tetra, I recommend having our extended families morph into Adele while at the holiday table. (Would have come in handy for a few extended family gatherings I've endured.)

Melina: none today but that's not unusual, in the past quits I can handle the days fine, its just at night when I'm done and feel like I deserve a "treat" I had the same thinking with wine too, so that's cleary a thought pattern with me.
My mood has been bad though, a squirrel went in front of my car and I had to slam on my brakes, I called it a POS :/

Mera: I love that story xoxo

Bix: I slept decently in little sessions too, most peiple would probably consider it a horrible sleep, but for me it was really good haha.

Romance update:
I forgot to give my little update on mon because I was too busy crying over everything....

I can't tell if philosophy TA is into me or if I'm alone in this one...
He acts strange and kinda blows me off, but then I'll catch him looking at me, ALL the time.
So I figured he really hates me, or he likes me.
He's nerdy, so I'm guessing he doesn't have much experience with women, he's pretty introverted too, but has a deliciously dark sense of humor and the sweetest smile.
Anyway, I thought maybe if he does like me, he's just shy.
Then I thought I'm being delusional, so I stopped trying to engage with him because I felt like a weirdo...

Then on mon, I had to sit right behind him because I was late, anyway.... He turned right around and locked eyes with me, smiled and sat like that looking at me without saying anything for a while.
Sooooo, I think I might a tually have a chnace with this guy.
I'm not used to this haha,
I usually like to date tattoos, muscles and motorbikes, I have no idea how to handle a shy, nerdy ph.d student.

Thanks for reading my trivial romance story haha!

Evening all!

Post-o-rama! I, like others, have struggled to keep up on our hopping bus.

I hope the quitting is going well MLD.

If I ever organise a road trip across America, I must remember to smile politely at other drivers for fear they produce a firearm from the glove box!

I hope everyone is keeping well.

Quiet evening here. Junior a bit unsettled, but I think we are managing it. I may need to venture to the dreaded Ikea tomorrow for additional furniture to enhance our sleeping arrangements.

I may catch ye later good people later,

B

I agree with this, bix. People are getting shot these days due to road rage. I used to flip people off all the time, but I don't anymore.

Someone stole the freaking emblem off my car while I was in Whole Foods!!! I called the roadside assistance people and they said that's not something they deal with! Omg!! Who goes around stealing car emblems?? I'm not a happy camper right now.

Even philosophy men with pens and books and glasses and stuff are not THAT deep are they?

Of course he likes the way you look I 'spect but you are too young for him Jenny JS. You have more important things to do like stopping smoking

Thanks dad
I'm 32 and he's 33! ( though by the way I drivel on about this guy I probably sound 19 haha)
But I agree quitting smoking is very important!

Keeping myself busy with stuff for thanksgiving, like these:

Also got to babysit my granddaughter for a couple of hours. Any distraction helps.

I'm in my 3rd year, I started late because I was very busy doing drugs, drinking and then I spent a few years backpacking and teaching english in Asia.
I'm a late bloomer university wise!

I'm watching Blue Bloods and Superman Danny and his partner are in the forest heading to a crime scene. The exchange goes like this:

Baez: "Is it me, or have we been walking for a really long time?"
Danny: "it's definitely not you"
"You have breakfast?"
"No, and right about now, a roast squirrel sounds appetising".
"Are we still in New York?"
"It's just a little further"
"Didn't he say that already?"
"Yeah a long time ago when we were younger."

Made me laugh and think of LB and the squirrel
