Hearing water from a deep 925 ft well being pumped into a 5 thousand gallon storage tank. The sound of clean running water.
There is One to thank for this.
Especially in this desert dry California landscape.

That little kitty -- "Little Rusty II"
I think that we have something like 15 cats outside now ?
A few of them are real talkers.
This one little guy sure has a lot to say to me every time I go outside.
Even though I'm not sure what he is saying, I always give him a kind reply.
He seems to enjoy our conversations.
If I was drinking today I probably wouldn't even know his name.

A nice sober evening wished for all,

Definitely a new appreciation for nature sounds. Heard the wings of a turkey vulture as it flew overhead the other morning, the sounds of a lone bird singing in a tree at 5:30 am. Leaves and rain blowing outside my bedroom window at night.
Sounds of one singing
5:20 PM
My wife singing in the kitchen while she is cooking dinner.
Very peaceful here at home without booze in me.

Ah, the sound of a cute little Wren Bird
that flies under our garage and lands on
either the riding lawn mower or our
Harley Motorcycle, singing up a storm
to either thank me for his worms or
just popping in to say hello.
I could be sharing or surfing on my
laptop and immediately have to
run outside to greet him. Sometimes
I cant get up and out of my chair
fast enough to make it to the back
door.

The peel of thunder after the flash of lightning then after a pause - a downpour of rain so heavy I have to shout to be heard. Then as suddenly as it starts- the storm goes- leaving a fresh, earthen scent with an aftertaste of water- then silence. The sound of silence.
I was outside today laying some small
bricks down to form a cobble stone path
and could hear the bells ringing at the church
that is right down the street from me.
It made me smile as I remembered as a child
hearing the church bells ringing from a far
that we belong to many yrs ago.
Just another delightful sound to hear in sobriety.
