Watching TV with our parakeets on this Sunday afternoon. They are really talking to that TV!

I've been trying to keep my life mostly relaxed and mellow in the month that I've been sober. There's a musical group Hammock which has a bunch of albums of relaxing ambient music that I enjoy, Oblivion Hymns and Departure Songs are two favorites.

Listening to the music I grew up listening to 40 - 50 years ago.

It's still great.

I remember when I came home from being in jail for 8 days (detoxed while in there) and sat outside and the wind was blowing and it was the first time I could actually sit there and enjoy it and I was sober and clean it was crazy when I said how it felt so different than before and my cousin had said to me "maybe it's because now you can actually feel something" which she was so right I was feeling everything possible.

Everybody's out, the dog is napping, the furnace just shut off. All I hear in the house is ticking of the clocks. I like quiet.

I am quite noise sensitive and love quiet but live in a big city that's really not quiet in general. I got a white noise machine for my private room a while ago and it's not only very effective in neutralizing unwanted noise but I like the sound on its own. Very relaxing and I often keep it on while I work or sleep.

The quiet sounds of my wife cooking Saturdays pancakes.
Grateful to be on a mountain top far from the city noise.

We don't see it here very often.
The sound of a steady rain outside, for many hours now.
Plus, my roof repair is holding.

Yay for the geese, brining warm weather with them as they travel north.

The cute little crunching sound my dogs make when they're eating their dinner.

What happened to those geese? It's been cold and the wind's been-a-howlin'. Not a sound I particularly enjoy.

I love to hear the soft sigh of contentment when Billie settles down on her blankie.

The sound of our parakeets talking as they watch movies with us.

They truly enjoy movies maybe it's the music?
