The Character Defect That I'm Currently Working on ???
character defect
Ahh yes the character defects, and to think I thought in the beginning my only problem was the drink and drug lol. Working on my character defects is a constant thing I must be aware of. I will say today the one that I am working on (and most of the time working on) is selfishness. When I don't get my way or when my expectations are too high and someone doesn't do what I want, that is when I get unrealistic. I am pretty sure selfishness is my #1 defect so I will continue to work on that daily. Great topic, thanks!
Greed. That about does it for me.
Oh. Pride. Yeah. I'm always one-upping or one-downing myself.
Who am I kidding? I have all of them. I like to think I'm getting better but I don't even know anymore. I kind of feel like I don't know much of anything!
Is it just me, or is it common to think some particular negative trait has been overcome only to find it pop back up again the next week? Or I point out what someone else should do only to catch myself at that same crossroads an hour later? I don't even like to admit I have faults. That has to be a fault, right?
Work in progress.
I'm just glad I've lived long enough to be aware these need to be improved. I should have been dead decades ago with some of the stuff I've done.
Love this thread so I thought I'd bring it back up a year later. Frickaflip, your post is in my bookmarks. On point.
Thanks, Bob. Where are you?

Oof -
Judgmental-ness.
My stepson (19) has really thrown us for a loop with his current life choices. I find them 1) immoral 2)dangerous 3)ignorant 4) absolutely harmful to all involved.....
And I need to stay in my lane. Support my husband as he PARENTS. Pray.
Again, oof. The biggest test of our relationship (my marriage that is) so far. We don't disagree on the situation, but me "letting" him navigate this is tough.

Still self centered here
when I concentrate on others happiness it's the best for all involved
I truly enjoy when I use some self control
and step back and let them have it
just wish that it happened more often.
