SECULAR recovery
Resurrecting this thread.
Doing random stuff-- good clean fun-- helps me. I posted over in the check-in thread that I chased a racing pigeon around a pasture last night trying to see if I could get it back to its owner. Well, it didn't really work out but it was kind of fun. Yeah, I hopped a fence and wandered around someone's property in the dark. But I had a good time doing it, I wasn't really doing anything *wrong*, and it's exactly the sort of adventure that puts a little twist on the day without the need for drugs or alcohol.

Great Blue Heron above.
I took this one yesterday:
This is part of my recovery. I go out and take pictures of insects, birds, and whatnot. It's one thing I do that I can get totally absorbed into. I like it lots. I don't know what I'm doing, but that's okay. I'll learn along the way.

Nice pictures, everyone takes such nice pictures here, I barely know which way to hold the camera, and I don't always even push on the right button , and when I do finally find the right button I'm not usually aiming right or I've cut legs off or worse half a head. Keep taking pictures and posting them, maybe I'll learn something too !
Thanks for the photos, Bam! Lovely. I like taking photos, but I'm no wizard, Cali! And even so, think of it this way: for every picture published in National Geographic, 400 are not accepted. Photography is as much luck as skill.

Glad you dug this one out. I hadn't read it the first time through....doesn't matter, though....it's timeless.
Windy, I think you have the bottom line on this one nailed down tight.
I use SR. If I'm not posting, I'm lurking.
Edited to add.....Bam, NICE pics! Seriously!
