No smoking today. The accountability of this thread really helps.

Walked by the smoking room at the airport which used to be my saving grace. Strange to see. I feel sorry for them now. What a strange habit needing to inhale smoke is.

Hi all I am back to day 1...I quit smoking for nearly a year then dabbled in March before becoming a 20 a day plus smoker full on. It is quite scary how quickly I went back to being a full blown smoker.

Today I begin again, my lungs feel awful so I have to do this...

Day 2...I only had one slight pang yesterday which really surprised me. Getting myself mentally prepared for today in case there's an onslaught...

I smoked a cigar today, too. We had my dad's funeral today, and it was a lovely ceremony and a great memorial luncheon afterward. So then all the guys (plus my daughter) retired to the cigar room for a leisurely smoke and conversation.

It seemed like such a wonderful occasion, so I joined in. My cigar tasted good at first; but then it kept burning funny and getting plugged at both ends, and I had to huff and puff to get anything out of it, which gave me a headache.

And in the middle of the conversation my father-in-law took off on a really unpleasant and divisive tangent and totally dominated. I wanted to excuse myself, but it seemed rude to get up and walk out in the middle of a sentence!

Anyway, I let it burn out before it was finished.

I'm done!

Glad you're done Gilmer....smoking really doesn't help, though I know only too well how much you think it does at the time. In fact well done you on only having one! Not sure I could be as strong as you and I'm sorry for your loss...

Well folks I'm onto day 3! I was fully expecting tidal waves of cravings all day but only got 2 biggies which only lasted fleeting moments! Maybe my body and mind are in a state of shock or something and haven't actually realised yet that I haven't had a single shot of nicotine in 3 days

Better get myself prepared then for day 4...

Have a good day all
