I totally understand how you feel, but glad that you came back! This is something that we need support for and not additional shame. I know that I beat myself up more than anyone else ever could. I have come back here again, again and again myself.
I felt the same way, but my desperation trumped my embarrassment because I didn't want my tombstone to read "Died of Embarrasment". I personally don't know of any person who said "never again" and successful quit on their first attempt. You belong to a pretty big group, but there is strength in numbers and learning from the experiences of others and applying the knowledge gained to our own efforts boosts our chances of success. It takes courage to get into recovery and you showed that in spades by coming here in total honesty. That is a great first step. I am glad you are here!
There's no shame or embarrassment here just good advice and compassion. Stay here and get what ever you need to stay sober, you know yourself its the best place to be its just so difficult to start and get those first few days under our belt. Keep trying sharing and posting. Good luck

Thank you all! I really wish there was a thank you button!
I am so drained by alcohol and trying to control my drinking! I feel like I have been trying to quit my whole life!
I am obviously having so posting issues! Sorry in advance

None of this being ashamed stuff, Quit. It would be more shameful to just give up on yourself & keep drinking. We have all been through it & understand.
I'm so glad you came back.

Hi Quit, it is less than 3 months since you joined, that is no time at all. I'm not trying to minimise picking up but I'm sure most of us did the same so no shame no embarrassmen. The main thing is to try to analyse what made you pick up at that particular point in order to be prepared next time. You'll find the way in the end.
Ps. There is a thanks button at the bottom right of each post.

As Hevyn says, Quit. No judgement whatsoever here as we’ve all been through it and understand

I sometimes log in and get the desktop site instead of the mobile version or vice verse and one doesn’t have the “Thanks” option.
Don’t worry about the “thanks” button, Quit. Just keep posting, and let’s get you sober

Welcome back quitorelse - no need for shame. We all understand
and yeah sorry the mobile view has no thanks button.
I think support is everything really. I posted here a lot in the early day, either asking help for myself or lending an ear to others problems.
A recovery plan is pretty important tho. There are some good ideas here on what a recovery plan might look like for you:
https://www.soberrecovery.com/forums...at-we-did.html (Recovery Programs & What to Expect (What We Did))
You can do this. I know because I and countless others here have done this.
Let go on Recovery 2.0

Hi, Quit- welcome back and stay close to get through your day- you can do it. We've all been there- me included. Do anything you must in order to not drink- for me the early days were spent sitting right here on this site until I could safely go to bed- and I'm happy I did it. You can succeed. Congrats on day 1.

We don't shoot our wounded.
There is nothing we can do to change the past. Control what you can control, like getting day 2 or soon getting day 3.
These sober days will start adding up. You will get your sober time back and be better armed to keep it.
