My da was an alcoholic, he stopped when he was in his early 60's, there are 6 of us siblings (all his) only 3 of us would drink, I said to my younger brother the other day, why me, then said. I wouldn't wish this on anyone, he says his only saving grace is that he works
Don't be sorry - we're happy to celebrate with you. Day 7 is a great thing.
The Alan Carr book is very popular - but I haven't read it, Boggle. I hope you enjoy it & that it helps.

I've read Alan Carrs book and its good, will help you understand why you drink and the trap it is.
there's lots of good books out there, im currently reading Catherine Grays the unexpected joy of being sober and loving it. Also William Porters alcohol explained is very good.
counting days is good, nice to see the days passing by and hope the cake was good.

I'm on day 9 my last drink was the 11th of April, had to write it down to keep me on track, haven't even started the book yet, but I will, hopefully, I'm so tired but I know that's all part and parcel of this journey,
Last time I tried to stay sober, it annoyed me that anyone who came to ours were always drinking my husbands a drinker, but this time they can drink get drunk do what they like I just don't want to

Hey Boggle, I'm so glad to be back on the sober wagon with you. I was sober for just over two years and now am on my 20th consecutive day booze-free. Both of us have the benefit of knowing this can be done long-term because we did it. That's some valuable experience right there. I can't imagine what your husband and friends drinking around you must be like. I'm not sure I could tolerate it. I'm glad you are able to step to the side.
One of the good things about that book is that you can read just a few pages each time you pick it up. The next time you go back to it, you'll remember what you already read - because he reminds you.

Please don't think I'm being rude or hateful when I don't put your name in my reply's, I'm being honest when I say by the time I get around to answering just after I've red the message, I've forgotten the name of the person I was replying to x

Obladi, I'm doing OK, I'm on day 11, it's not easy some days watching them all having a drink, so I try to stay out of there way most of the time, but I am absolutely feed up with drinking myself, wished I'd never of started again, but at least I have this chance to try again, well done on 20 days x
