I wanted a drink so bad. I made two calls and a guy I met talk to me for a hour. He said I could drink tomorow, Wants to meet me at a meeting tomorow at the midnight meeting. Told me to read bills story 3 times. I just realized he's a tricky dude. But i'm not gonna drink its like the picking up the phone really does work. I'm not the cocky man I thought I was. Pray for me. I'M NOT GONNA DRINK TODAY...

Good. Wow crazy how its spins. It was like bam in my head. Over it. Read bills story 3 times. Wrote in my book what I have in my life.Walked the trails for awile gonna jump in the shower and hit the 7 meeting. But That man saved me. And I found a meeting right down the road. THANK YOU.....
Picking up the phone is always way better than picking up the bottle. Your action helped you. It helped the guy who answered the phone. It helped and strengthened the fellowship and the program. Good job!!! THANK YOU...
Welcome, jimmymac. You will find so much support and wisdom here.
I hope you take advice given above - dump the booze and do daily AA meetings (start today if you can). In the meantime, stay hydrated with water, have a lite meal, take a warm shower. Be good to yourself.
There may be hard work ahead, but sobriety and recovery and well worth the effort.

question total dick at meeting yesterday
Ok. This guy was a real tool. Loud and rude. Just pissed me off and he's got time but it was a #hitshow. No one said anything and it was just not cool. I got really really pissed . WAS IT ME. or what should or how to deal with it. thanks.
When there are many meetings available in our areas, we
can try them all and choose which one we find helpful to our
own recovery. Sure, there are folks from all walks of life, which
keeps things interesting in meetings, but for the most part,
we take what we want from them and leave the rest.
I wanted to hear from the "oldtimers" with good solid recovery
wisdom who don't mind passing it on to those craving that knowledge
to achieve a healthy, happy, honest way of life.
Going to speaker meetings, big book studies, step studies,
open meetings, conventions, they all have something to
teach us as we build a strong, solid recovery foundation
to live and grow on for ourselves.
At first i was serious, maybe too serious and then i learned
in some of those meetings that it is okay to laugh and enjoy
life sober. To not take myself too seriously. Just relax, keep
what is most important front and center and enjoy the ride
or journey.
Today, i share my experiences, strengths and hopes here in
SR to stay connected to my recovery lifeline, help others, and
keep life light and easy as I continue to grow and change into
the best person I can possibly be moving forward in life.
You, we, us in recovery can too.
