Thanksgiving Weekenders 25-29 November 2021
I wish a very Happy Thanksgiving Weekend to all my American friends. However you plan to spend Thanksgiving Day and the weekend, stay safe and enjoy.
We all have so much to be thankful for.
We all have so much to be thankful for.
In for an extended sober Thanksgiving weekend!
Thanks Mags, good luck with future physio
Sending positive vibes Aly.
I'm mostly grateful for not feeling like death warmed up due to being drunk or hungover all the time. Selfish but true.
I could do with a four day weekend but this is our busiest time of the year and I need the work. The 650 mile drive back from the north of Scotland yesterday it out of me a bit.I felt I was glued to my car seat last night.

I am in for another sober weekend. Thanks Mags!
So many things to be grateful for. And I too need to work on my attitude. I worry constantly and don't appreciate the moment that I am in. Reading The Power of Now which is helpful for a lot of reasons.
I am grateful for:
my home
my family
my sobriety
mother nature's resilience
my job
food in the fridge and pantry
and so much more
I am also being mindful of the land on which I live. It is occupied land of the Catawba, Siouan, Tuscarora and Lumbee people.
I am hosting 7 people and have some help with the cooking. I have already made a GF pumpkin pie and a GF pecan pie and GF stuffing. My husband does the turkey and gravy and cucumber salad. My daughter's are doing the cranberries, mashed potatoes and green beans.
For all those that celebrate Thanksgiving I hope you have a peaceful time tomorrow.

Great tune, Sao! Good for driving. My car stereo has a short or something. Once in a while it will work, but mostly doesn't. I miss my music so badly! I'm going to have to make it a priority to get it fixed. Thanks for the reminder!
Thanks Mags, I'm in for this weekend. I got some good news the last few days, I had mentioned about my farm inheritance after my mother dying.
It looks like I will end up paying no inheritance tax on my farm, up to recently I was looking at paying €46,000 but my accountant was able to get that down
to zero so pretty happy with the outcome.

Reid, that sounds very good. I was curious but didn't want to be nosey. I hope things continue to go well with the farm.
CBS, I read a little about the Lumbee Tribe online. Interesting.
Saou, busy here as well. Good and bad. Should have had you pick me up some haggis while in Scotland, as it's on my list of things to try. I imagine it being similar to boudin. Canned haggis can be ordered online here, but it's expensive.

Not to be a bummer, but my BIL's brother died yesterday. He was treated very poorly by his family of origin and I'm not sure he was living anywhere, certainly not with his selfish, odious mother. I think he had a heart attack. The only thing I hope for him is that he is warm, safe and in a better place. My BIL isn't real demonstrative, but I could tell he was upset. Prayers for my BIL. I think I am going to miss him at TDay. He has to go to work at 2, I think, so I'll miss him. I'm going to hang out with my mom and my sister is putting a lot of pressure for me to come over. After I eat with mom and hang out, I'll go over and see my niece and nephews, I hope they're still there, very busy! I'm so glad the twins love college so much. I did too. They're thinking of getting double majors or grad school. I knew they would.
Hoping I get to spend enough time with the people I need to. I sent the twins some money for gas and snacks on their way up, it's like5.5 hours. I got a bit hug. My eldest nephews MD is getting worse and I don't know why his parents are ignoring it. If the opportunity presents itself, I'd like to talk to him about it. He's pretty closed mouth a lot. I hope my niece is there. I haven't seen her in a while. I hope her Lupus is doing well too.
Love to you all!
