Aly, I wish I could send our rain out west. I know you guys need it and we don't.

I am bored today. I'd take a nap but my neighbor kid is coming over at 5 to feed Billie and take her out.

I like waterfalls too. Haven't seen too many in my lifetime.

The rain is making it feel cold in here cause it's so damp.

I love waterfalls too. CBS that one you hiked to looks nice.

.Sao I like your photos of Glen Affric.
I do think it looks rather Middle earth-ish

Mine were just off the internet Polaroid. It said they weren’t photoshopped but I don’t know for sure.

Aly I hope you get some rain and your waterfalls start to run again. We could do with some here too.

Evening Weekenders

Lovely photos of waterfalls. I love pictures like this.

I'm having a relaxing sober Sunday evening, eating an apple and listening to Christmas music

^^^ Wow, that's a young Paul McCartney!

Neighbor kid just came over and fed Billie and took her out. He'll come back at 9 and let her out for her last potty of the day.

I love the Beatles. Did from the very start. George was my favorite but I loved them all.

Saou, my sister and brother-in-law go to Scotland often, they love it there. It’s not hard to see why. On one of their walks they came across Charles and Camilla. Another time they said all the bush seemed to be alive and it was army in training, all camouflaged in the bush. It looks so peaceful but you don’t know what’s going on around you.

Least, keep warm inside while it’s cold out don’t want you catching cold for Wednesday.

Yes I bet it was cold Sao but you soon warm up walking - especially up hill. Great pics.

Willow I did take Alfie yesterday, he is allowed short walks, I probably did more than I should with him but he was glad to be out. He walks on three legs a lot of the time but just takes it in his stride (excuse the pun).

Cityboy, yes the woods are well managed, the coppicing allows so much light and new growth.

I had to put up some more new blinds so this time I decided to invest in a drill. I thought it would come with clear instructions but no. The first drill bit broke in the wood, spent ages trying to remove it. Then I tried again and it just wouldn't make a hole in the wood. In the end there was smoke and the smell of burning where I was drilling. I reverted back to my bradawl. Four and half hours later the blinds were up. I don't know where I am going wrong.

Mags, I did consider your method of no more nails but I was concerned how you remove them if needed.

Good work on putting the blinds up Kaily. I wouldn’t trust myself with a drill! I’ve got a new blind for the bathroom so I’ll let you know how it goes taking the old one off…when I do.

If the fittings are the same as the old blind you could just change the blind and use the old fittings. No need to remove then. Not much you can do with your bad arm though.

I have been looking at velcro adhesive...

I did wonder if I could just change the blinds without anything complicated. I can do some stuff with my right hand, I just get stuck if I need to turn my wrist.

Morning Everyone, lots of good posts from you all keeping me occupied!! Morning of Day 4 and finally had a full weekend sober! Very cold here but a glorious day with blue skies which are my favourite kind of days in Autumn. Planning to go to a local cafe and have a full English breakfast, then go shopping to get some stuff to make asparagus soup and other bits and then go for a walk this afternoon. Hope you all have a lovely Monday! xx

Milford Sound at the bottom of Sth NZ. Crystal clear H2O 1kilomter deep, mountains 1k high, with hundreds of cascading waterfalls- a truly beautiful place...I went there on honeymoon, a lifetime ago..
