Keep ‘feeding’the real you itsmaria, not the corrupted addictive self.

It is worth it - and so are you

It's the bad part of pet ownership but saving them and loving them is always worth it.
^^ This. The pain of loss is offset by the wonderful life we give them and share with them.

Here's one of my favorite quotes by Irving Townsend, about cats.

“Another cat? Perhaps. For love there is also a season; its seeds must be resown. But a family cat is not replaceable like a wornout coat or a set of tires. Each new kitten becomes its own cat, and none is repeated. I am four cats old, measuring out my life in friends that have succeeded but not replaced one another.”

Losing a pet is so painful, I'm very sorry for your loss. I agree that staying sober in honor of your cat and working on your recovery so you can give a loving home to another is an excellent tribute! Kitty would be proud. Hugs.

So sorry to hear that. I know how hard this is. I lost 3 cats in the past 1.5 years. 2 to old age, 1 to cancer.
the last one I carried around for 6 months because he was too old and blind to move much. Spent every single day with him and neve left.
So to me it doesn't sound dumb, but it will feel worse if you drink. Stay sober and think of all the good memories you have.

I made it through the weekend thanks. I'm ok just sticking to my structure and list of things to do

Kind of splurged yesterday and bought some things for myself online that I don't really need, but not the end of the world.

"Retail therapy" is always good. Glad to hear you're staying sober.

Hi Maria! Your neighbor here! Haha. Have you thought about going to the Toronto Humane Society downtown on River St. to adopt a new cat? Might help to fill that void so beer doesn't. I'm sorry to hear about your loss. Pets are harder to lose than some humans!
