Hi. Not sure what to write. I recently broke up from a relationship. I'm not hurt over it but she was. I feel bad for causing hurt. I just didn't feel like prioritizing much beyond my sobriety. I do like this kite day.

Plan to walk the earth carefully today and not listen to the news. I don't have a neighbor to wave at, but will salute my one co-worker!

Ok it's 9:02 a.m. and jr's 2 minutes late reporting to his desk 2 rooms away here at home.

I just set the timer for 10 minutes to post a quiz, so here it iz:

Quiz:

Q1. What is the name of that not-quite needlepoint fad of the 1960s and 70s, no doubt still happening at a less fevered pitch than then? Jr finally remembered, answer appears below.

Q2. After sober (ahem) reflection, jr decided Travis Bickle is perhaps not the most inspiring SR screen name, so jr has rescinded his thinking that he might seek to change his name to that here. T.B. was the anti-hero, I guess you'd call him (not a hero at all), the Robert De Niro character in Taxi Driver. Jr used to be a taxi driver, but no, not sufficient reason to go ballistic over the Travis Bickle name (as jr vaguely recalls, Travis goes ballistic in the movie). So, you ask, where's the question?

Q2. Where's the question?

A2. See Q3.

Q3. Who made her big-screen debut in Taxi Driver?

Q4. Who was the other female dazzling supporting character to De Niro's towering performance as Travis?

Q5. What is jr's most favoritest (most of the time) movie of all time? (Hint, not Taxi Driver, but it is great and I'm gonna rewatch it soon if it's on Netflix.)

Q6. Should jr adopt the name Will Kane for his SR name? Will Kane is the lead star character of the answer to Q5. (Hint: the movie is not Citizen Kane).

Q7. Who is the "royal" female lead in the answer to Q5?

Q8. Who is the other priceless female star in the answer to Q5, the worldly wise "woman-with-a-past"?

Q9. Will jr stop now, since that timer has been ringing for 3 minutes?

A9. Yes, just as soon as he posts answer to Q1 below, as promised.

A1. Spoiler alert, are you ready? Read on. (Hint: How cruel of jr to keep you waiting.):

A1. Crewel work.

Extra credit: Does anyone still do crewel work, like my mother, sister, aunt used to do back in the day?

Happy Friday, quizlings (not to be confused with dastardly quislings).

Mr. Mags and myself have been for a short walk around Normanby Country Park. It was cold but lovely.

Have a Good Friday.

That is BEAUTIFUL Mags love!!! Wow....and the sunshine.

I looked it up.....my mother did a ton of tapestries with wool, raised designs and so did my sister. But they were called something else. Hmm.

Suze, I love tapestries. I’ve always hankered after doing one...one day. Yeah the sun was shining, it really was nice. Though I didn’t buy food for the ducks and they wasn’t happy!

Sorry to hear about your dog, Snoozy. I too unfortunately have had to do the same thing to one of my dogs many years ago. It will hurt for a while I'm afraid

I have no plans for the weekend, relations are home from England, was going to go to a local AA Convention but I've been so busy with work I haven't got a chance to catch up with them yet. Plus there's a storm coming too......

Evening Weekenders!

Will Kane is a great name jr. I had to Google who it was but then I'm hopeless on cultural stuff.

Q5 I'm going for the obvious answer - Police Academy 7 Mission to Moscow.

Great pics Mags. It looked like a fine day here too from what I saw out of my office window.

Hometime woot woot!

Upon closer inspection, I see the version of the serenity prayer crafted by my mother is in needlepoint after all, not crewel work (see pic). (She did many other scenes in crewel).

Pic:

(This is my first effort to post a pic. I'm not sure whether the pic itself will show up when I his "Submit Reply," or just the code. We shall see.)

Here it is:

EDIT: Ok, I posted it, and I see that it is the code, not the actual image, but if you click on it you'll see the image. But I wonder, how do people post so that the actual picture shows up here?
