Zanna, I shared at a meeting yesterday about how in the past, for various family of origin reasons, it was the perfect storm to drink. Back then- it was a reason, but it was an excuse. Well done for posting. You got off the ground, dusted yourself off and look to the future- learning from the past. Support to you.

That's terrible news about your cousin. I'm so sorry Zanna.

I'm sorry you drank after three years but being brave and posting about it here so quickly is really positive and says a lot about you.

No recriminations here

I'm sorry for your loss Zanna.
A lot of SR folks are facing loss right now, so we all understand.

I'm sorry you've been drinking too.

There's no need to wait til tomorrow tho - you can stop now, drink some water, go to bed and be that much better placed to hit the ground running tomorrow.

You haven't blown those 3 years - unless you decide to willingly throw them away.

Use what you've learnt.
Get back on the right road Zanna.

if you're expecting me to go off Zanna - not gonna happen.
No point

I have to go and do family stuff, but I'll check in again to SR later.

Zanna,

I hope you make it back. Not everyone does, no matter how good the intentions to.

Do the actions and feelings follow. Show up. Be of service. One day at a time. It's the actions we take in this day that count.

Good luck.

I am sorry for your loss Zanna. I think it is great you came here and was honest about drinking though. Alcoholism thrives on secrets and lies. You drank. You are owning it. By posting you have helped me today. I am not immune from picking up a drink. I am an alcoholic after all. I have to work my recovery on a daily basis. So thank you for posting.

Put down the drink. Get some water in you. Don't allow the alcoholism to creep back in. Shut it down now.

Lots of love

🙏❤🙏
