I hope you'll look at this John

I've read that thread before, good stuff.
I will get a plan together but my mental illness can make adhering to such things difficult.
My drinking wasn't down to boredom, (I don't really get bored) or peer groups (I have none) etc.
I guess for me drinking was like a form of self-harm because I knew drinking would only cause me harm (either physical or mental). There were absolutely no positives about alcohol.
I have had certain meds increased and that has already started to have a positive effect.
I think an initial plan would have just have one thing to address and that would be to get more exercise.

John, I hope this is day 3 - ? And I get the self-harm part - I even knew that my meds were useless while I kept drinking but I kept drinking anyway.
I had to take the action and finally it was AA (or nothing). It saved my life. As I've gotten more sober time, I've added different support things like SR and the restaurant industry support group I lead. I need all the help I can get!
I know you can do it- and you did have time, tho I might guess it was harder than it had to be if you didn't have a plan (besides being here with us). I hope you choose differently this time because you are still here and I KNOW there is hope. Stay with us.

I can't do AA, I'm really not good around people due to my temper which can be violent. I avoid people as much as I can. That's not the only reason I can't either.
I can and will do it though. I'll get a plan together and take it from there. I'm feeling positive about making changes in my life.
It's great work you're doing within the industry, real good. Your posts on here are very good too, so thank you.
Dang John.
your sudden leaving saddens and baffles me- but I can't lock the doors
From our conversations, I assumed SR was about the only thing you were doing for your recovery right now - I hope I'm mistaken and that you have something else in place.
You deserve recovery - best of luck to you

Wishing you all the best dear John.
I was looking for you and read this....also baffled, and I hope your recovery plan has lots of tools.
Hoping you come back and let us know how you are doing.

Thanks Venus, Dee, Lila, Lucinda, all.
I'm back and have been working on my recovery action plan, SR is part of that plan.
Haven't drank since I was last here which I think makes it just over a week.
It's good to be back
