I love reading the 'real life' accomplishments of sober, happy people. I want what you have and am working towards it. For now my accomplishments today
Ate breakfast
Brushed teeth
Made my bed
Logged onto SR and posted
Called the rehab (I'm on a waiting list but call each day to see if I can get in earlier)
None of these things would have happened if I were drinking

Today 1. Got up early and made lunch to take to work
2. Got to work 45 minutes early
3. Chased up customers and got sales
4. Came home via the shop without buying alcohol
5. Smiled and laughed with my family

It's fun to read the accomplishments! Here are my 5 today
1. Got caught up on a bunch of errands after work.
2. Finished planting all off my vegetable and cleaned patio and furniture. (This included needing to move a snake that was near the house-- not my favorite part, but it's happy in the woods now)
3. Bought food and firewood and got everything prepped for the grill out and campfire we're having tomorrow evening.
4. Got yard mowed and edged. (It's not that big, but it's about 1/3 acre)
5. Washed and vacuumed car.
I feel like it was a successful day.

Great topic but a couple of questions.
What's a Zombie Bible???? Do I need to start hoarding food and water?
For me today---
Woke up sober
Talked to both of my adult children
Took my new dog to Home Depot for some socialization
Bought plants, which I will hopefully plant tomorrow
Took a nap
Am almost done with my binge watching of all 6 years of The Office
Going to bed sober
Might eat that ice-cream I'm pretending I don't know about.....

Fitbits ARE fun! I obsessed on mine for a while and figured out that it was 800 steps to the end of the block and back. Also, it was a total of 200 steps to the back part of the house. 180 steps around the perimeter of our yard. You get the idea.
I put it around my dog's collar when we played fetch since I had joined a Fitbit competition group. Didn't work, wouldn't register steps correctly. He wouldn't let me put it on his leg either. He's too honest.
But it did get me motivated to join a gym and now I work out 3-4 times a week.

Missed yesterday so here it is
1. Woke up early and fresh (little bit tired)
2. Actually ate breakfast
3. Sold 4 cars and 2 handovers at work (that’s a good day!)
4. Got little man to bed without too many dramas (wife at work late)
5. Healthy dinner even tho it was at 9pm!

Lazy Sunday so far.
Because I am sober,
Showered and ready for church with Mr Horsie and all three foals.
Cooked a chicken for lunches this week. (muffins with the foals later)
Made the foals pancakes
Had a mani party with the foals, we all have blue nails
Later today the satellite installer is coming. I fought this for 2 years...

Honestly I did everything I need to do while drinking. If anything I am less motivated to do as much now that I am not drinking. Although I still manage to get them done I am alot less enthused about it. I was a highly functioning drinker. I did not have depression or fear or feelings of guilt or self pitty. I popped up out of bed at 4 am ready to go. Breakfest for the kid, drive to school, pick up from school, drive around for various reasons, work, race(and sail) sailboats, play drums, study for 3 bands, practice piano, keep an immaculate yard, garden, orchard, fix whatever around the house and car issues, cleaning the house, canning, help my older neighbor with his yard, church, dinners, travel, family events, golf, take care of the dog, keep the vette looking good, I'm a metal fabricator so I build huge crazy stuff and install them. Lately alot of sitting around the house due to a layoff which is why I was drinking all day. Still doing the same(cept I skipped golf last week cuz I did not want to drink) only sober. Pretty much sucks but hopefully I wont die as soon(alcohol gave me alot of health anxiety). Plus as I understand, it will not suck so much after awhile. I do alot but honestly its not because I'm sober. Its just because thats how my life is currently.

I’ll do yesterday’s as it is early yet.
1. Went to therapy with my husband
2. Made kids choice for dinner - it was horrible but we all pretended it was great
3. Stopped by a neighbors party just to make an appearance - caught up with some other neighbors we haven’t seen for awhile
4. Took the medicine my dr prescribed for my neck/shoulder pain and rested - even though I didn’t want to
5. Watched an episode of Black Mirror and thoroughly enjoyed it.

Love this thread!
Today's 5
1- cleaned my kitchen by 11am. This kitchen was a total mess but I got up early and binned a lot of stuff as well as a lot of recycling.
2- had the dog out for 3 good walks
3- made lunches for next week
4- decided on not wasting money on alcohol and instead bought fruit and veg
5- had a really refreshing shower. I always worried that I'd smell in work but kept changing my clothes, just didn't care for showering as much. Which is disgusting to admit but my time was divided between work and drink. Very little else mattered (hence the kitchen being such a state)
Now, relaxing with the dog, drinking some mint tea and smelling great!

Start of the working week, here goes
1- woke up really early, ready to start
2- walked the dog and enjoyed the morning, it's nice to be able to appreciate a morning breeze, the sky, everything. Especially when it's totally the opposite of last Monday waking up with a banging headache, total inability to get up early.
3- got into work early
4- being generally more active and walking more
5- food prep and also clearing up after. Not just eating bad stuff and letting dishes build up
These may sound daft but for me, taking an interest in work, in health and trying to better myself is something new. I almost feel like when I drink, I'm just giving up on me, I don't care about what I put in, what I do or more importantly, what I don't do. My only focus was getting drunk. Now it's about staying sober and focusing on getting better.
