Back at it
I joined in 2012 and I'm always so happy to see you I'm glad that you are back and insightful as to what your next steps look like. I found it to be so true that the longer I stay sober the more I get it.....

Good Morning,
I had a restful-ish nights sleep. The weather has been something else here.
3rd morning off from running. I am giving myself a little breathing room here and some time to reset. My legs are sore from Sunday..... I dont know. This happens.
Goals today: Work. Stay sober.
I think I can do that. Ill let you all know if I cant.

Your experience is very common for an alcoholic. Stick with a recovery program until you experience the spiritual awakening/psychic change necessary to recover from alcoholism. Also it may be that you need help if you are continuing to struggle with your moods from psychiatric services. The secret is to get as much help as possible.
Contented, happy sobriety is totally possible and it’s possible to become a totally different person if you stick with it until you get the profound changes in thinking, attitude, and outlook on life which working a recovery program will bring. The secret is to stick with it through the tough times accepting the good and bad as simply one of the same.

Reading through this thread is heartbreaking and I can so relate. I hope Mizz comes back soon.
I think we can all agree no matter how miserable we can get sober it doesn’t compare to misery of using.

Ive been in a relapse for over a year. I dont have excuses and reasons as to why I relapsed. I wasnt strong enough to get through the negative place I found myself in while being sober.
I am back in that negative place but its not due to sobriety. I have an issue with living life. I need help. Lots of it.
I can make it back to being sober and gain confidence again. I can do this. Please dont give up on me. I will check in later when I am on my lunch.
I really do appreciate the support. Always have

you did it once before so you know you can do it again. Maybe it’s time for some one on one counseling? Start running again? Feed the good part of you that has been neglected. Though I don’t recommend rehab it can be a good way to hit the restart button.
This is whole community has your back. Keep us posted.
