Weekender Thread 31 August - 3 September 2018
Best of luck trach! Embrace everything you can while you are there, will be thinking of you and will miss you round here!! Do let us know how you are getting on in a few months if you do get any internet privileges.
Hi Manta.
Hope you manage to kick off Gloomy SPC.
So it's Friday afternoon and ripe time for the AV to raise his or her ugly head. Just remember nothing ever good comes out of having a drink if you are an alcoholic like me.
Join us here for the weekend. There's no rules to the weekender thread.
Just post.
Maybe some of the old regulars might come back to say hello on this last weekend of august first weekend of sept.
Later weekenders

Weekends scare me silly. Last weekend I had a mini-slip, and had to start counting days at zero again, which was a bummer for lots of reasons. But my resolve is really strong today, I'm making a point of visiting SR mornings and evenings, I'm reading books about sobriety and I'm trying to make active, non-alcohol plans and backup plans. I live in a small town, and worry a little bit about going to AA. But I've been reading about it and think it would be helpful. I need to think a little bit more about that ….
You got this! Stay with us, post lots and let others help you when you need it.

Dee, your description of your fall sounded awful. Please continue to take it easy.
Trachs, my dear friend, I will think of you often and keep you in my prayers. Expect lots of postcards from my part of the woods.

I am in for the weekend!
The results of my cryosurgery were unsatisfactory so yesterday I began the chemotherapy cream [5% - the strongest, I think] on my face. I have five early stage basal cells (spaced very close together) on my forehead plus one on the other side of my forehead. I have a highly advanced AK (pre-squamous cell) just below my right eyelid. The therapy was prescribed for my entire face as my dermatologist strongly suspects that there are other abnormal cells just below the surface of my skin; he is expecting reactive behavior in those areas especially above my lip and on my nose. The area below my eyelid is already beginning to react. I am to expect quite a bit of pain as the therapy progresses but none so far.
Wear your sunscreen, everyone! All of this damage was done before I turned 16 when sunscreen was only available in SPF 2, 4, 6, and 8.

I hope the cream helps Leigh!
To make it a bit easier for myself to get back into studying after recovering form the accident/surgery I went to a nice and quiet cafe today. Sometimes it can be easier to get into "work mode" when I'm not at home.
Plus there are some nice felines here, it's a cat cafe I'm pretty pleased with the start of my weekend!

Thats scary looking stuff on your laptop screen Kev.
Leigh, I was completely unaware of your situation. I don't follow too many threads these days. As the weekenders above said I hope it works. I will be thinking of you.
Nice to see you guys Tynesider, Badge, and Free2beMe.

10 minutes from leaving the office for the weekend, cannot wait as I have been really busy and a bit stressed this week.
Good luck to you football team Tynesider (was it North Shields?)
I was going to post a cat/computer meme but there were too many to choose from.

In for the weekend! Weekend 44.
Just mowed thr lawn, doesn't sound like much but takes an hour and a half. Push mower, still have to weed eat. I went on an elimination, allergy diet last week, dh started keto. I am in ketosis too but my diet doesn't emphasize that. I was like, let me pee on a stick, he was all, you eat tons of fruit you won't be in ketosis. I was in Sunday when he started, took him 4 days, I don't know for sure, but I had symptoms after 2 days. I was pretty smug about it lol. He is walking around all hangry and miserable, I was like, what is it hard or something?
4 cord of wood to stack and a couple dozen jars of pickles to make.
Life is good right now.

In. Thanks Dee, hope you aren't in too much pain.
Leigh, I wish you a speedy and painless response to the treatment.
This weekend I am confident I will not drink. Going to have a healthy and I hope peaceful weekend!
Best wishes to all the weekenders.
