So a year ago today I began my sobriety journey, the best decision I ever made. I reach this milestone thanks to a number of sobriety tools I put into place as part of my recovery plan. These include a sobriety mentor who is a friend with 10 years of sobriety behind him; he has provided support, encouragement, understanding and knowledge. Meditation has helped me change my relationship with anxiety. I completed an audio book/online programme called The 30 Day Sobriety Solution by Jack Canfield. I have listened to, and applied the principles of, countless recovery and motivational audio books. I have regularly checked in to and posted here on SR. I have completed a daily gratitude list to focus on the positives in my life.

The momentum created by the decision to embrace sobriety has meant that I have been able to achieve the goals I set out a year ago, and more. I have secured two promotions; bringing with them a sense of achievement and increased income. We have sold our 1 bedroom flat and will shortly be moving into the 3 bedroom house we have bought. I had a gastric band fitted and have currently lost 3 stone. My husband and I are also expecting our first child...which is magical 💕

In addition to the above tangible fruits of my sobriety, there are many unseen that I now experience. They include;

Sense of calmness
Feeling proud of myself
Trusting myself
Loving myself
Being productive
More energy
Managing my anxiety
Creating happy and fun memories
Experiencing enjoyment and fun
Feeling difficult emotions and working through them
Being free from alcohol - freedom
Feeling in control
Sense of fulfilment
A life which has meaning and purpose

Thank you to all at SR for your kindness, encouragement and support. Wishing you all well in your recovery journeys 💜

Thanks Horn 💜 sorry...there's 14 lbs in a stone so I've lost 42 lbs.
