Plenty of authentic wrecks out there, hurting themselves and other people. I think that concept of "authenticity" was something I valued very much when I was younger, still have pangs of here and there.

Many other more valuable and honorable ways to be than just authentic, whatever that even means.

You apologizing to anyone here is too much Dee. But thank you. Was an interesting run there!

I'm good. Sober. Gathering strength, just trying to stay present. Feels good.

I'm glad to see you're feeling a bit better today, lessgravity. The most profound truths can seem to obvious sometimes when you hear them out loud, but they're still true- it's amazing at times what a difference a day or two can make. When things are bad I always try to just keep my head down and keep moving ahead. If you're open to chance and willing to accept a miracle you're much more likely to experience one. And you really create your own small miracles almost daily.

Whats up everybody, I'm doing well today. Sober sleep, sober morning, great early gym with some heavy deadlifts. Made some calls I needed to make this morning.

Off to a really good meeting in 15 minutes.

Gorgeous day here on the eastern seaboard.

Thank you to bimi, Be and Myth, Dee - sober is as sober does today.

Life is heavy enough to carry. Feels good to be sober.

Seems like you are in a good place! I'm only 5 months into this, so take this with a grain of salt and I hope to not offend, but I think your outlook is holding you back. The "no one is coming to save us", talk about demons, and your last line about life being heavy enough, come across to me as very pessimistic. The posts I read from those with long term sobriety seem to have a tone of inner peace or tranquility. Again, I am no expert and have my own issues, but it is something that jumps out to me.

Went to the farmer's market and loaded up on beautiful parsnips, which I love, and rarely find fresh or good quality.

so I zipped home, and cooked them up with some local sausage and the a few other market goodies, and now doing laundry and catch-up on other cleaning and work stuff.

Sounds boring, perhaps, but like you said, it feels good to be sober lg

So true LG. I try to remind myself that drinking is like gaming on hard mode. I'm simply choosing to make my life exponentially more difficult.

Duhhhhh
