Weekender 8-12 February 2018
One MIA here, Dee. But I'm happy to report that today marks 4 years since I put a plug in the jug. I have SR to thank for helping me through the difficult few months, and beyond. I seriously doubt if i could have done it without SR. I remember posting about the terrible brain fog...I was convinced that I had damaged my brain....and I was reassured that it will pass. It did. In the beginning, I stayed close to SR, reading and posting many times per day. I made it through and my life is good now.
So anyway, I could go on and on. I just want to encourage those who are struggling to keep going. It's difficult in the beginning, but I guarantee that it gets better. Stay close to SR, post your worries and concerns. There is so much experience, strength and hope here and SR will get you through the hard times, as it did me. Thank you, SR. Thank you Dee, for always being here.

on 4 years dear happyandfree!!!! ♥
And it is wonderful to see you....really. ♥♥♥
Oh my gosh.....what a huge weekend we are going to have!!!! Celebrations galore....I will be back tomorrow to congratulate you love!
My first sponsor, who retrospectively had a very big impact on my life led with that AA Milne quote: it was pretty much her whole philosophy. I hope that I am able to be half the friend and mentor to others that she has been to me.
Darling Midnight, and everyone who is going through an introspective/difficult time....please remember that we care and we are all here.
We do this together. ♥
Thanks everyone, I'm pretty stoked I made it this far. I'm looking forward to ticking year two.
Congratulations HaF! I didn't mean to leave that out in my initial post but quick fingers at work got ahead of my brain :P

Congratulations tekink!! One year is a big accomplishment. Then they start piling up and it gets much easier. But a lot goes on in the first year. Learning new coping skills and learning to live a really sober life. Year one is a big milestone.
And....I'm definitely in for another sober weekend.

Carnival (oh blimey)
Well done everyone on staying dry, keep going it’s the best way.
This weekend is carnival, which is a big deal were I live. I have seen it from all angles!
I don’t like to run away from problems, but I’m not ready for this. (40 days sober on Sat). So I have hired a flat in the mts and I’m going snowboarding//soul searching. I’ll return when it’s all over.
Have fun this weekend.

Thanks! That was the hardest year of my life, I can't believe I caused myself to go through that.
I miss the snow, not really a fan of the cold but I love the snow. It'll be sunny and 80 today, but summers around here are awful.

Congratulations HAF and tekink! This is wonderful!
A cold gray day here in Vermont, but the sun looks very determined to shine. My son arrived for a long weekend visit and he slept at my place last night. It was very comforting to have him back under my roof again after all of these years. I slept very well indeed! I'm appreciating his adulthood with my sober mind and eyes. I missed so much but I will not dwell on the past
