I had a panic attack this morning because I drank so much last night. It is apparently been nearly 2 years to the day since I last visited this group. I can't keep doing this
Well, you're back now Goldcoastgirl - and probably ready to give sobriety another chance. I had to have bad things happen before I finally admitted I could never touch a drop. I put myself in danger many times with my attempts to be a social drinker.
Glad to have you back with us - we're ready to help.
Glad to have you back with us - we're ready to help.
Welcome back, Goldcoastgirl; it is good to see you although I am so sorry that you are struggling.
Jump back in to sobriety and recovery and give it all you have.
An exponentially better way to live awaits you.

Welcome to the place where you are among so many people that are the same but different, that understand what you are going through. So sorry to hear you are having trouble with the drinking thing. Sobriety has to become the most important thing in your life. No matter what else happens, as long as you don't drink, everything else will work itself out. Trust me, I am living proof. Best wishes for you on your journey.
Gold,
I was drunk for so long normal still feels abnormal.
I had serious panic attacks before i quit and was heavily paranoid for well over a year after i quit.
That is brain damage. But, after a while i healed. Really, it was like i got used to being paranoid.
We are lucky to have SR to inform us versus basically thinking we have simply lost our mind.
Thanks.

It sounds like you are ready to be sober. It took me a while to finally get it right as well. I know someone posted the December class link, here are some others that might be helpful to get started as well.

Thank you for asking Hevyn - feeling rather emotional but feel like they are the emotions that need to come out - I think that is half my issue, trying not to feel things so numbing them out.
