Today is my new day one.
I am making it thru day two. It is not pretty but I am still af as of right now. I made a fresh post of chicken vegetable soup and enjoyed a couple of bowls of it.
I am exhausted and I think I am going to get in bed and watch some tv and try to get a decent night sleep.
I feel like I have day 2 under wraps but I know how easy it is to slip.
Bedtime at 7 pm?? What ever it takes to stay sober.
see you all in the morning.

Susiesmiles.
I am glad you are doing well with day 2. I don't know what time zone you are in bit I am IN PST.
It is 7 pm here and I am going to go to bed. I figure I can't drink if I am sleeping.
Have a good evening.

Checking in with you brave folks starting out!
nothing wrong with bedtime at 7p - or however early you need or it takes to get to the next day!- in my book! Naps are fully endorsed too. I still use the "Send Myself To Bed Early" technique when I get emotionally overwhelmed.
You all can also look at the November Class of 2017 thread under newcomers, if you haven't - folks starting where you are! My class of Feb 2016 has been a great source of support along the way.

I went to bed early a lot when I stopped--your body needs time to heal.
I also woke up in the middle of the night for several weeks--if that happens
I suggest keeping a journal by the bed, or watch some old movies, take a shower, etc.
You're doing great! Keep posting and using every resource you can
to get through this tough part.
Making soup is a great idea--lots of vitamins and minerals in stock,
and we typically are deficient due to the booze.

Good Morning day 3. Last night was rough as far as sleep goes.
I am feeling like I have been beat up in a bad fight but I am here today and I am not going to drink today.
Out to run some errands. Check in with you all a bit later

Great work Sixstring - the first week can be really rough physically - glad to hear you aren't letting that get you down too much. Don't be a stranger if you need some extra support this weekend!
Good morning!
Start of day 4 for me. This has been a really tough 3 days. My body is screaming for its alcohol fix and sugar fix.
I have to stay away from sugar because my Dr pointed out how high my glucose levels had gotten up to.
So I am laying low, resting as much as I can and drinking lots of water.
Glad to be on day 4. Soon I hope the fog will lift and I might start feeling better.
Thanks all for the support.
