I’m in the same boat with you. Today is my day one. Although I haven’t succeeded with day one in forever, today is going to be different. I’m glad you’re doing this! It will be worth it. Stay strong and remember you’re worth it!

Wishing both of you the best on day one, and may it be your final day one.
It can be, too. Glad to see you're taking action by going to AA and coming here.
Remember, you never have to drink again.

It's courageous to give it another try - much easier to give up. We're proud of you. Let us know how Day One has gone. We're with you.

All stocked up on good food. planning to give my body a bit of a rest, drink lots of water and hang on for dear life. I know how hard the first week can be.
Thanks to you all.

You can do this, Six. You too, Sinderos and Sandytoes. A very good, sober life lies ahead. Wishing you strength and all the best in your sober journeys.

I love that.... I read an article that said to tell yourself "I'm so glad I don't have to drink today"

If you can do Day 1 then you can do 10-years because every day is a Day 1 if you think about it. It's just one day...

So good job and keep it up!

Hi all. For me, Day 1 wasn't too bad, but Night 1 was absolutely horrendous. I wish you all a safe and (if possible) not too bad first few days. I wanted to post here just to advise you not to trust your emotions for the first week at least. It's very possible you'll feel miserable and want to escape that feeling with drinks.

If it helps, read my posts from the October 2017 class thread. I'm in a good place now, only 10 or so days later. But I had a roller coaster start. On the other hand, I was able to take care of family and work responsibilities even during that time, so I hope it goes smoothly for you.

Best wishes and good luck.

Made it through day one. it was a hard day. I have spent most of the morning at the doctors office finding out how much I have damaged my body. More on this later.
Resting, trying to eat and drinking lots and lots of water.

Good day to you all.
