SAH ,
I don't see someone who is bad or unworthy . I see a child who was abused by an adult and i see a parent who should be a font of love and acceptance acting out from a place of fear and anger, not wisdom .

I've met and known people who've suffered abuse and what you describe about your feelings towards it isn't unusual .

You probably do need to talk to someone who is an expert in the field , not just some random sober drunk on the internet this is something pretty big for you and i'm worried i'll say the wrong thing and make things worse if your feeling vulnerable .

I hope everyone made it through good friday .

A new sober saturday today , fell of your sober bike? , got off the sober bus? (destination sober tuesday) . What did you learn ? how you going to shake it up and change things ?

Blue skies and sunshine here today so i will have a sit in the garden with the cat , maybe play a bit of horizon zero dawn ..

a big pile of dirty washing needs doing it will be nice to line dry stuff rather than tumbling ... although the bed sheets will get tumbled for 10 at the end to soften them up a bit .. clean washing on the line smells nice ..

good morning to you , hello coffee time

Phoenix, do they even need to advertise Vegemite?

I thought everybody over there just naturally bought it!

good questions Mec.

Yep- G. We all smear ourselves in the stuff- like healing loam. Instead of cement when making houses. Instead of first aid kits- we just carry around V. It now comes in a toothpaste like tube. Some girls prefer it to lipstick.

Kept thinking of MTV's Ridiculousness. I was waiting every time for something to go wrong. Extreme sports are too extreme for me. But pretty cool.

No, that's lager you're thinking of Gilmer.

Actually those vegamite ads were better than some of ours, at least they sang in tune.

Apparently April the giraffe was pacing around her enclosure disdaining leaves but eating a little bit of grain. The former Mrs Sao was much the same

Hi all! Just checking in. All's good here. Great, even. I'm sober and going strong. AV tried to say something to me last night and I told it to shut up. I'm happy.

SAH, I too slipped after i'd made 18 days. I felt like crap but I knew I had to get back on the bus immediately. Try your hardest to get back just 24 hours; sleep all day, lock yourself in a room, anything. After the first 24 hours, I believe it gets a little easier to stay sober because you'll no longer be at day 0. Day 0 sucks. Day 1 is a great place to be. You'll then be better able to view all else with more clarity.

Its Saturday afternoon here. I have an Easter luncheon thing to go to tomorrow. Should be easy breezy. I'm not worried. I never drank much when out with my H and son, surrounded by mostly his friends. So not drinking there should be easy enough.

Wishing everyone here a lovely Easter holiday again!

Mentally preparing ....

....to serve the champagne and wine to my dinner guests tonight and not have any myself. I will be so happy tomorrow morning if I can do this.

Good morning weekenders. 8:22 here in the Manitoba Metropolis. Loved reading todays posts. Thanks for the laughs, and congratulations to everyone. MyTurnAround - Do you have something for yourself? Cranberry and soda water for example? Better than staring at an empty glass.

In (?) Better late...

Lots of successes in this thread, well done!

For those struggling, we are there standing with you. Keep coming back and posting through the tough times.

God grant me the serenity to accept the things I cannot change,
The courage to change the things I can
And the wisdom to know the difference.
