Make it through to Monday Weekender Sept 9th Part 1
Hi, everybody!
Thanks for the call to a Monday check in, Ken! I am happy to raise my hand and join you all in saying it was a completely sober weekend!
I did so much the previous weekend, that all my little to do stuff was minor and just flowed... I also took time for self care and that is going to pay off big time today.. I have whitening for life from my dentist, custom made teeth trays, etc. I bleached every night this weekend and imma blind people with the pearly whites today!
Those little things make a huge difference to this drunk... Compared how I used to treat myself, every little step helps!
The other thing I did was hang out with my Dad, he's in town visiting. It was very nice... He found a vintage Vernor's wooden delivery case and bought it for me, and filled it with Vernor's! That'll come in handy if I get a tummy ache this winter.
Vernor's is a ginger ale, it's so Michigan, so huge nostalgia factor from my home state. It doesn't taste the same as when I was a kid.. It's a lot sweeter now. Vernor's and saltines was every kid's treatment for minor tummy aches.
What a great gift. I have a great family.
I'm gonna go crush it at work now! I got up extra early so that tonight I will be sleepy early... that way I'll take a couple hours off the AV and give myself a break I case I feel lonely and want to send stupid texts.
xoxo

Good morning miscreants!
I got to work early this morning - I get a better parking spot that way. I could pay for a parking pass to park in a lot, but there's street parking that's free... I'd rather just get here early enough to park free. It gives me some time to gather myself before the phone starts ringing, too.
Gearing up for another busy day. I won't be on here much. Have a great sober Monday!

Yay Whiskey! Congratulations CWood.
Marty those ribs yesterday looked terrific. I'm jealous of the smoker.
Sao, I do have a giant fish on my back porch. Taxidermied wall trophy. From someone's estate sale.
Congratulations to everyone who made it through to Monday. It's hard in the beginning. I like what Brain said. Worst day sober is still far better than your best day drunk. I can't imagine laying in bed all day, passed out. It was a stunningly beautiful day yesterday. And I took advantage of it. Daughter and I went to the pool again.
Sitting at work, waiting. I've got stuff to do.

I wish every Monday morning was like this! Easy breezy.....no major surprises or snags, no irate patients....no stress or feeling overwhelmed by too much to do with too little time! So nice!
Even though it's still warm outside there's a definite feel of Fall in the air! It's time for a new season, a new beginning and that's always a good thing.
Looking forward to my trip to Austin this Friday for an uncles 80th birthday party! I'll see lots of family that I haven't seen in a long time...it's a chance for some redemption maybe after a few really rough years. The only one of that group I kept in contact with was my aunt who never gave up on me and always encouraged me with cards and letters. Now it's time to face the rest of that part of the family and show them I'm back to my old self again! I'm a little nervous, but once the initial greetings are over I know everything will be okay! xo

Remember brynn, you don't need their approval. I can understand wanting their acceptance and approval but, if they don't give it, hold your head up high and know that you are doing what's best for you.
Hi Della!
Oh forgot to congratulate cwood on an awesome milestone!
Thanks SU! Their approval doesn't make or break me, it'll just be nice to mend some fences and feel part of the family again.
