gotta make it stop
Hi John, I went through a similar period years ago. It is a long story but one of the things that made me realize I was not alone came through volunteering. I started going to a unitarian church that would make large meals for the homeless shelter. There is something about getting out of ourselves to help others. There is something in truely being appreciated by helping others who need it. That smile of appreciation by delivering kindness to those suffering in different ways than we are. We all are suffering though. We feel it though. Deeply at times. I think, for me, that is why I may have drank without decision. Helping others helped me feel something other than my own loneliness. I hope this helps brother John.
