Back for the 100th time ...😳
Hi Animalnurse, another welcome from over the ditch in Australia, I am back again since April now and the tough hill has been so worth it, a little bit of vanity is not bad either, a few kilo's lost, no puffy red blotchy face and after a bit I have a skip in my step. I am glad you came back. Stay plugged in to everyone here, it is amazing having people who understand how tough at first and yet how rewarding this can be if you stick with it.
Thanks Ring, hope u guys are having a better winter than we are!
I have to admit i am looking forward to the weightloss and getting rid of the puffy face.kind of sick of running and puttin all back on again at night. Thats definitely something to look forward to!

An,
Keep sobriety embraced. We were not designed to go through life permeated w alcohol.
Alcohol scrambles out brain and weakens us for a long time.
Dealing w life sober is a blessing.
Sober, we can deal w the good and bad times honestly and w confident vigor.
Quick story....
Went back to work for a couple of days this week....took the month off...to spend time w my family...I am not getting paid for most of the time off.
There were several folks at work that tried to make fun of my decision to spend more time w my family over the summer. I thought you quit....are you part time now....I laughed at them w sober confidence.
With my new sober vision, I could sense their jealousy in my decision to sacrifice money for family. Greed is a deadly sin....don't need that...
In my drunken days, this would have been a reason to drink.
Now it is a reason to enjoy my family even more.
Thanks.

Glad your back AN
Have to say "moderation" was my downfall too for years.
I just had my six months sober anniversary since my last and final
moderation attempt.
Overall, it has been much easier this time because I finally put
the idea to rest for good.
I can't drink just a little, and letting that notion go has been really
freeing and now is something I embrace, though at first it scared me
to think it.
Just let the thought be there for a bit when you meditate, and pretty soon
it gets more comfortable.
How are your dogs?

Welcome back AN. You've got it in you to make this change. I like and relate to what Dee said... You'll learn to be happy and sober. When you get to that point, you won't ever want to go back to the darkness and destruction drinking brings with it.
Glad you're back. Never give up.
