Well I'm on day 8 and I'm starting to gain some energy back!!! I'm thinking of all the things I want to accomplish and feel so clear headed!!!! Although it is 5 pm right now and my alcoholic brain is trying to tell me it's time to drink!!!! I'm definitely not going to drink tonite in fact I am going to drink a big milkshake after dinner

Can't believe I'm on day 13!!!! I'm keeping myself busy at night to keep myself from thinking about drinking. I have a lot more energy during the day and love that I'm getting stuff done now!!!! Before I would spend every second I had on the couch😞

Hi Jenny, welcome! I could've written your post a year ago. Clock would strike 5pm, and the wine would start flowing. 1-1.5 bottles every night. I never, ever thought I could live a sober life, but it's been over 6 months for me now. I went to inpatient rehab, best thing I ever did. But most people stop drinking on their own, like you. You might have some withdrawal symptoms -- shaky hands, anxiety, insomnia, peeing a lot and cravings, of course. Not sure how you feel about talking with your doctor, but in rehab I was on librium for a few days, which really helped with the withdrawals. Yes, it gets easier. The cravings ease up. You start feeling really good. (When you're drinking 1-2 bottles of wine a day, you never feel 100%!!) Being sober is liberating. Stay on the boards, you can do it!
