Hi can I talk with someone?
Hope your first meeting goes well. It's always scary the first time, so it's good you have someone to go with. Well done for reaching out for support. Let us know how the meeting goes, and keep checking in here. This place and AA have realky helped me to turn my life around.
Welcome Fulham. Don't just hope you can beat this... Know you can. Like the others have said, this is going to take hard work and commitment, but it's within your grasp.
Every one of us here is still battling this addiction. I don't care if you are on day 1 or 10,000 it is with us the rest of our lives.
The good news is the longer you stay sober, the easier the fight gets. You move from a constant daily mental and physical battle to a focused reminder of what you can never go back to.
You absolutely can break this cycle you are in.
Welcome aboard.

You are not a loser Fulham!!!
There is hope, you will have to put some effort into it but you can do it. Many of us here have been in your shoes and have made it to a better, sober place.

Fulham, you can beat this. Reaching out to us was a good start and calling your friend is a good idea, too. We do understand how very hard and scary this is. Please know we are here for you.
Fulham, it is great that you have a friend to lean on. AA is a great start. As you have experienced already, SR is a great community with veterans to help and newcomers to share with as well.
Keep checking in and give and update on how you are doing.

. isn't it amazing! AA is set up the same way. People will be willing to drop everything have a cup of coffee , take you to a meeting understand and support you. Then as you are sober your essence of gratefulness your understanding and support will go a long way with someone new. So glad you are seeking help these feelings right now will pass. Let them stay in the past. Live the peaceful happy life you deserve. You sound quite contrary to a loser, you are human. Keep us posted.

Hi! This is my 5th day sober. I went to an AA meeting last week and this one was good. I am looking forward to my next one on Thursday. Today I am starting to get a bit of clarity and feeling low about the problems I have made for my self (relationship and work). Peace.

Great job Fulham. Make sure you reach out to us if you are feeling weak or when your AV starts chiming in. We can't help you through the tough spots unless you let us know you're going through one.
Great job on 5 days!
