Back on the horse
Hey noneever
I was reading your other thread. Let me tell you it resonated with me.
Did you get a chance to work on a recovery plan?
Do join the April class I will be there with you.

Nonever - you can do this. Sometimes we need further convincing. I was determined to use willpower to control myself - wasted so much time insisting I could. You are back with more determination - congrats on Day 1.

Sounds like you have a very good starting point there. This is a journey that is not easy but it is doable and is so worth it!
I don't look at it as "I have to stop drinking" instead I think "I never have to drink again".
Listen to the advice on here from those who know about developing and sticking to a plan. Reach out for help when you need it -- you don't have to do this alone. There is help everywhere you just have to ask!
I also found will power alone was not enough to get through such a drastic change. That being said, there are so many outlets in life you can choose based on your own desires to find purpose in.
These forums are one, talking about anything and getting it off your chest. I used to think I couldn't be social without alcohol, but here we are. If you can look up, you can get up, and if you fall, fall forward my friend.

As you know by being a member of this forum, there are many ways other than sheer willpower to get your sober. Pick the ones that resonate with you and work them into the dirt. It is pretty clear to me that you really want to be sober.
I contend that even if you need to take a "life" timeout (treatment, rehab, leave of absence...) its worth it to you save your life.

I tried the moderating as well, it never worked, and I spent way too much time and energy thinking about how much wine I could allow myself, and oh how easily I would convince myself a little more wine is fine.
I am on Day 104 today, and I will say I am enjoying being sober much more than I was enjoying my attempts at moderation, and waking up feeling crummy.
You can do this!!!
