Out of control
Hi my name is Cassidy I am a 22 year old female and my drinking is out of control. I have ruined friendships because of it and I don't want to keep living life waking up ashamed and confused about what happened the night before. I'm hoping I can get help from this site. I have a lot of friends that all drink but they aren't like me where once I start I can't stop. They aren't alcoholics like I am..
Welcome to SR. This is a great place to find help and support if you want to stop drinking and change your life. I have 55 days of sobriety and I owe it to the AA program and this forum. Congratulations on taking the first step on your new journey!!! Peace...out
Welcome to SR Cassidyjo - there's tons of support and good advice here
I had no off switch either but being part of this community really helped me get sober and stay that way
I know we can help you too
Have you any ideas on how you might stay sober?

Hello Cassidyjo, it's odd all of my old friends drink too! Birds of a feather I guess. Since i quit drinking 100 days ago I've made a new friend that doesn't drink. I have as much fun with him as I did with my drinking buddies. It has taken a little getting use to.

I don't have many ideas on how I'm going to stay sober this time. I'm just gonna stop pretending I can do it on will power because that never lasts long. I need a hobbie I can enjoy with other people who are trying to stay healthy. I was thinking about boxing or yoga. And meditation is said to help with the urges to drink
Willpower never worked for me either cos part of my will wanted to drink. Accepting that my life would never get better unless I stopped drinking was a better motivation for me.
