Smile I'm so glad I didn't drink Wednesday

Hi!

I was really wanting to drink on Wednesday when I posted here for the 1st time. But thanks to everybody's encouragement I didn't. My granddaughter (who lives with me, I am her guardian) became very ill and I was called to the church where she was attending services and had to follow an ambulance to the E.R. ! She had a seizure for the 1st time in her life and we still don't know why. Bless her heart, I am so sorry that this happened to her. I am also so grateful that I was fully sober and able to take care of her! Wouldn't it have been horrible if I had been drinking when they called! She and my grandson are one of the many reasons that I have been able to stay sober (mostly, except for a couple of times) since last June 25. This gives me even more motivation to stay away from the wine!! It is hard to do, but it is worth it! Thank you all so much for the words of encouragement! thanks

It does get easier and better and better, too.

Are you doing anything to cultivate and nurture your recovery?
Hi SoberLeigh! What do you mean by cultivate and nurture my recovery?

Congratulations for not going in...and on multiple occasions...pat yourself on the back for that!!! Thanks for posting. It makes me recommit everyday by coming here and reading and knowing that I'm not the only person on the planet going through this.
