Nice work my friend... food always helps lessen my cravings to drink... especially early on after giving it up. Also when you drink heavily the lining of your stomach hardens to try to protect itself from the booze you put in it... which also stops you from absorbing important nutrients so when you take the booze away you get those nutrients back over time as your stomach becomes more pourous again !
"my main goal was to make enough to support myself and drink in a decent environment." I made it! Saved enough money to go to Thailand and drink myself to death on the slow plan. I decided not to go. See my signature below. I quit drinking Dec 9 2015. I think it's a better plan.
I paid to drink; and it was the hardest, worse job I've ever had.
Now I work to stay sober, it doesn't pay a whole lot, but the benefits are fantastic, and I enjoy the work, my life. I have one again!
Alcoholism is a proggressive disease. Cunning, Baffling, Powerful, Patient. For me it involved Incomprehensible Demoralization, finding my "Bottom" where I was losing Everything; and finding Humility; when I was ready To Do Whatever it took to get my life back, I got to work.
It's easy; our life s#cks so bad that our choices become jail, institutions, death or recovery...
Sober for 5 years if I stay the course 5/23/16
