A good breakfast is important, yes?

Sometimes, yeah. If you're very active, definitely.

Sometimes I just have coffee. And then sometimes I eat eggs. I love eggs. Scrambled eggs with cheese.

In my youth, I ate breakfast regularly. Not so much anymore.

Lunch is when I'm typically famished.

One favorite that I make sometimes is a waffle sandwich. It's two Eggo waffles with melted cheddar, scrambled eggs, and syrup.

I have to eat breakfast. Sometimes it's just a banana. Other times...sky's the limit.

I think I must be getting calories via the half & half in my coffee. Maybe that's what tides me over until lunch.

A special kind of decadence. I am impressed.

Omg that waffle sandwich has me drooling!
Happy Saturday morning! I'm so grateful to wake up on a Saturday without a hangover.
But....why 5am? I have no idea. I just wake up, start thinking about things I need to do, and that's it. I cleaned around my stove fan hood at 5am already today and started packing up for my hike. I'll take the dogs walking first, and then take my youngest dog on the hike. Along with an 8 year old who has never been on a hike before. We will hike to a waterfall. It's about 2 hours, up and back, I hope he makes it. I'm trying an easy hike with him in hopes that he will love being out in nature as I do. My adult children are avid hikers since I was always dragging them onto the trails when they were young kids.
so....that's it for me so far today. I just love weekends.
Mia....congratulations on 4 weeks!
Pouncer. ....stick with us here and keep going.
You too, Piggin.
we can make life good, you guys.

Piggin and Pouncer are such great names.

HAF, I'm waking up early these days too. Feels good. No reason not to get up and start the day...

HaF have fun on the hike. Waterfall sounds so relaxing to me at the moment.

Brain, look at you all cryptic about the invention. We'll be able to say we knew you back in the day. I'd guess you'll do well since you're a thoughtful guy in the planning process.

I'm still laying in bed thinking it's so late but it's only 7:45. Trying to muster the energy to get up and start the day.

Good morning! Just got caught up on the thread. Woke up without an alarm at my usual 5:30, but just didn't feel it today so I went back to sleep until 7:15. Now I feel like half the day is gone.

Supposed to be quite warm here today, so I have to get out and hike a bit.

Brain, you've got me all curious about your invention. I wish I could invest. I've got $100 - how much of a share will that get me?

Brain is inventing something? I must go back and catch up!
I have a cool $100 to invest too, Brain.

At the mountains this weekend. Little planned. My friend will ski and I brought my paints.

I actually slept until 5 this morning. A rare thing lately for me. Started reading the book 'Room'.
Good so far.

Think a cup of coffee is in order!
And then to decipher what Brain is inventing.

Thanks getting smarter! Not much actually, one thing I've learned from past tries is once I start feeling better I get these ideas of grandeur that I'm going to take on everything at once. Then I get overwhelmed, feel defeated and drink.

So, today's to do list is, wait for it:

Laundry
Shopping for some healthy food
Eating at least one meal, that I prepare myself, without the use of a microwave AND cleaning up afterwards

That's it. Maybe play with the dogs, definitely hang out here

I've heard both of those things about the book. I hope I can power through the brutal.
I've become a bit of a wimp in my old age.

So I threw a chicken carcass in the slow cooker with the usual aromatics yesterday to make chicken stock. Let it go overnight. I don't know why I've never done this before. I usually do it on the stovetop. I'll never do that again. But now I have to deal with it. Ugh. Strain it and all that. I don't have proper containers to put it in for freezing. I used to... Not sure what happened to them. So I'll have to run to the store. But I'll be happy when I pull this lovely goodness out of the freezer down the road.

This is wise, GoingNowhere. Keep it simple. I try to do one icky grown-up thing per day, along with the usual daily chores. That way I don't set myself up for defeat.
