My favorites are "I can't imagine never drinking again" or "I could never give up my wine nights" and then they ask me how I can possibly live without alcohol. What normal drinkers don't realize (even when I've tried to explain) is that alcohol was slowly killing me... It stopped being a fun recreational activity, or a simple way to relieve stress, a long time ago.

I as well got the "you were more fun when you were drinking. I replied with "I didn't know I was in charge of the entertainment, I wasn't even getting paid."
