Break Free Sober Weekender Thread Oct 30th...
Day of the cats, day of the dead - this sober bus of ours has got it all going on!
Sorry to hear about your kitchen SoberP and the manner in which you found out.
Samhain approaches - rituals to signal a change in the seasons. Our ancestors believed this a time when the boundaries between worlds becomes malleable, the world of the living and of the dead. I think this was symbolic, the dead being our individual and generational past. The bonfire symbolises the possibility of cleansing and change.

Love the bus photo!
A friend we've not seen here on SR in a while, Nuudawn,* commented on how she'd dream of a global SR get-together. That bus makes me think about how much fun that would be!
* Hope she's well. And, if lurking here, we'd love to hear from her.

Happy Thursday Enders!!!
People at work were talking about the costumes they were going to wear tomorrow. I am not a costume wearer. Thought about wearing my pajamas, but didn't think that would go over well. I decided to stop by the mall and picked up a nice set of scrubs. In black, of course.
I shall be a......who knows what I will explain it as, but I will be comfortable!
My one goofy cat is curled up in the shopping bag I just brought home. When I told him it was national cat day, he looked at me like....of course it is national cat day. Every day is national cat day.

In the light of cat day my dad had a cat that was given a meatloaf to eat that nobody else wanted because it tasted so bad. Long story short he ate so much he couldn't stand but would keep eating if you put it up to his mouth. He was ok and lived to a ripe old age.
Have a nice evening evryone.

LB, be careful out in 'dem woods on All Hallow's Eve. You know what happens in those Freddie and Jason movies to young couples like you and the missus who go out camping on spooky nights! Just kidding. Have a blast.
Good to read up on everyone's stuff. We're just plowing forward, as best we can...right? Not every day needs to be spectacular, not every sober memory is made of unicorns and skittles. We're just staying off the bottle and sometimes that's enough. Waking up sober always increases your chances for a better day tomorrow, I do know that.
Speaking of which, I've had a few rascal mosquitos buzzing around me the past few nights. Every time I turn on the light and get up to swat them...they disappear. As soon as a turn off the light and lie back down...I can hear them start buzzing around again. Frustrating as all hell. Back during my drinking days I probably would have thrown a lamp against the wall in utter frustration, and awoke to shattered glass in the bed. I'll take a few mosquito bites over that any day.
