Remind me why I do not want a glass of wine
Hi Ditzy. Cravings do show up but they usually pass in under 10 minutes. For me eating something sweet usually helped. If you can go for a walk, feel the air on your face and remember that this minute is when the rubber meets the road.
Think about the difference in waking up tomorrow feeling like you let yourself down again, versus the pride you will feel in knowing that met this challenge and conquered it.
It gets easier and easier, just remember, you only have to do this once!!!

I already had some ice cream. I'd walk but worried about walking to the shop. Can solve that by taking the dogs as I never leave them tied up outside but it is raining and they HATE the rain so much. Twiddling my thumbs at the moment.
I play the tape through, right to the bitter end, when I wake up the next morning bathed in shame, anxiety, remorse, self hatred, feeling like crap, wondering what sh## things I raged at my husband about, having pain in my side, afraid of the physical damage I am doing to myself, and knowing that I can't just get up and shower any of this away. It will weigh heavy on me and the only solution will be to do it all again the next night......
It will start a binge and will result in misery, regret... and go through the horrible withdrawal symptoms. And, the more times we pick up the withdrawals can get worse and worse - the kindling effect.
The more times you shut down cravings and AV the less they will occur and the better equip you are to deal with them in a positive way.
Wishing you the best today!
