4 Environments that put sobriety to the test
4 Environments that put sobriety to the test
I'm glad you shared this article, Wolfie, and I hope SRers will take a moment to read it -- especially newcomers or those struggling. It's a quick read but it makes excellent points.
There are many times here on SR when people post about events that they "have to" attend or being around people they cannot avoid. Just as often, the response from the more seasoned folks is to avoid them. For good reason.

Hmm. It doesnt include when you have a gorgeous 21 year old roommate crawl into your bed, rip her shirt off, kiss you on the lips and hand you a beer.
I gave in and drank saturday to that. I was impressed with my ability to moderate, stop when it was time and havent drank since. It was my choice though, i dont blame her. It was a good night overall.

Paintball, I'm not sure how the experience you described above syncs with your other post, in which you discussed needing detox due to the volume of alcohol you were consuming (to the point that medication for withdrawal were prescribed).
Be careful about being "impressed," as you say, with your ability to moderate. There are frequent posts from folks on SR who thought they, too, could moderate, only to learn it wasn't feasible and they went right back to where they were before. That should give you pause. I wish you well.

If I keep hanging out at the barbershop, I will probably end up with a haircut.
You can stay sober but, it may take some extra diligence.
