Used to play in a band and understand that one needs to make a living. A friend of mine in AA is a bartender. But, we see some early in recovery who just can't understand why they can't hang out at bars without drinking. Hey, to each their own, it's just for many it doesn't work out well.
If I keep hanging out at the barbershop, I will probably end up with a haircut.
You can stay sober but, it may take some extra diligence.
