This is so hard!

Hello, I'm new here today. I am detoxing from a horrible alcohol addiction. I am itching like I"ve quit before..been to rehab, hospitalized, you name it. I finally am starting a new job Monday. I have to finally kick this without rehab. PLease any advice to help these symptoms????? I have no desire to drink. Last one was yesterday. I lost everything bc of this problem. Career, husband, 2 little boys, house, 2 other jobs, savings, family. I am finally ready to be done. All these symptoms are awful. Please help! Thanks so much!

It is always best to see a doctor to help deal with alcohol withdrawl; that is best advice. I can't recommend cold turkey nor dispense medical advice. Stay hydrated. This site, forums, chat are a tremendous resource for knowledge & support. Get a plan and keep coming back to this site; we're here for each other
And if you can make it tonight we have a chat meeting at 9pm est; it's a seriously good recovery time!

Hi and welcome to what can be the start of a new happier life.

So much is dependant upon the person as we have so many different needs to address. Getting ans staying sober are not usually a snap your finger, your fifed.

I’m an advocate of going to a LOT of AA meetings and WORKING the program of recovery by becoming involved. Very often doing what we don’t want to do is very rewarding. It has been so for millions worldwide over the years.
Also reading a lot of post on these forums is very rewarding.
