Need another reason not to drink?

A man was just arrested in Phoenix after drunkenly leaving his toddler in the car. The boy died from the heat.

I waited to respond to this because it made me so mad. Something like this was one of the reasons I ended a relationship ten years ago. Daughter came home to mom's house around noon. Already loaded. It's sunny and pushing 90 outside. Leaves two one yr olds strapped into suv with car running and a/c on. Proceeds to pass out inside house.
I threw a fit. The punch line is this. Are you ready for it?
I was told I didn't have kids and I wasn't qualified to give advice on raising children.
Sad but true. I was basically told to mind my own business. I'm not making this up.

I tried for years to have children - not in the cards for me. And I have to witness things every day that turn my stomach.

Drunk and stupid don't really mix. And often, they go hand in hand. Honestly, I don't know how anyone lives with themselves after that.

On a side note, drunk and stupid most certainly go hand in hand for me. Luckily I never hurt anyone or myself... well other than the debilitating hangovers and withdrawals, and lack of productivity at work. Took a swing at my brother once, we were both drunk. Still regret that.

It just shows how irresponsible we can get when we get drunk....at least some of us. The drink is not worth it. Most of us will never have something this horrible happen to us, but why chance it? If we don't quit for ourselves, at least think of the people we affect.
