We are Opening a Brewery
Hello,
My husband's hobby is craft brewing. He recently received an inheritance from his mom's estate and wants to renovate an older corner shop in our town and open a brewery/gastropub. He used to be a chef 12 years ago and wants to partner with his best friend who lives two blocks from our house. I will be working at the pub too: taking care of inventory, and even running the bar occasionally. I think this will be a GREAT opportunity for us and I think I will be able to resist the AV. I already have 2.5 weeks and I have resisted it so far.
Happy and scared. Eek!

I don't doubt your sincerity at all Pouncer
I don't like being the lead weight guy either...so I logged off and thought about it and decided I wouldn't be doing you a favour by walking away and not sharing with you my concerns about this.
You have 2 and a half weeks which is great, but that's a *really* small sample size of sobriety to draw from.
There will be many situations to come that will test your resolve.
It happens to us all.
I understand you want to move on from having this problem.
I'm not wishing you ill or suggesting you squash your husband's dream either.
I'm just saying - don't underestimate this addiction thing.
It's relentless and patient.

Sorry, I can't do this to you, Dee. You are too nice.
My husband doesn't drink beer or make it. He can't even get the yeast to proof for bread. His mother is very much alive. Running a bar with an alcoholic would be the worst idea ever. So, in short. April Fools!

Pouncer I'm sure you were in fun but this sort of fun where you pull on our sympathy and empathy is not my idea of fun. There is plenty to laugh about in recovery and sobriety but setting up other people for a laugh? No.
And yeah I know my POV won't be popular.

My intent was really to parody the AV. We have all been there and/or have seen it in action. "I have a month; I can start moderating again"...or "I am secure enough to go to a bar with my friends," et cetera.
Dee, sorry about that. At least I didn't put mayo in your Krispy Kreme...
