And don't get me started on weed..harmless. methinks not. I smoked everyday for 16 years. It is certainly a gateway to harder more destructive behavior.

Horrible nightmare last night. Woke up frightened and despondent. Felt very real. I had been drinking booze. Sighed with relief when I awoke to the truth. My sobriety is intact.

those are good dreams to have - reinforcing in your subconscious mind that drinking is bad.

Alcohol does such a number on one's body. Its so damn destructive, polluting. Havoc wreaking and harmful. It took me 15 years to get that through my thick skull. But I did. Better late than never they say

One of the best things about being sober is the willingness to believe that everyday is another step foward toward a sounder, healthier, richer you.

First the man takes a drink. Then the drink takes the man. Alcohol had it's boot to the back of my neck. But I fought back. 197 days sober.

Thanks to sobriety I look like myself again. It s weird. I look at past photos of myself when I drank and i hardly recognize the reddened, bruised, bloated, puffy, face in the photos. Alcohol leads to drastic physical transformations like Dr jeckyll and my Hyde.

Another Saturday night. Sober. "Binging" on episodes of Lock up on MSNBC. Its telling how many inmates are behind bars because of substance abuse. Alcohol/drugs. I remember when I was drinking I felt imprisoned even though I was free. Alcohol was like iron bars encasing my soul. Now with sobriety I feel free. 200 days next Tuesday.

Its telling how many successful high functioning people don't drink booze. Many uber successful people drink like fish I know. But I find sobriety fits me best.
