Erin, I found that journaling the really tough resentments helped me a lot. If you write your feelings/resentments, you might find that they lose their power over you.

When we forgive we do it to free ourselves...not the one we are forgiving.

Forgiveness is not for the weak...only the strongest of the strong can forgive.

People generally only hurt others when they are in pain themselves. Live by your values and let go of the past.

try writing down how bad you feel get all the pain and hurt and anger down and then set fire to the paper and watch it go up in smoke

i dont have to do that anymore but i used to when someone hurt me, what i came to understand about me after many many times of getting hurt by someone or something and wanting revenge or to get my own back etc is just how badly i felt and the person never felt anything like i would do

i dont let anything get at me these days or try not to, the moment i get any sort of bad feeling i just let it go as i dont want to hurt anymore

i have to take action as nothing else is going to remove it from me, i can not sit there letting all those thoughts and emotions get at me
the best thing i found to do was to contact a new comer or someone worse off than me as i soon would forget about myself by that one simply action

There's a movie, "The Fountainhead". The antagonist asks the protagonist: "What do you think of me? Tell me." The protagonist says, "I don't". That is how to deal with your problem people.
